UPDATE BIAYA ADMIN

Introduction

Tokopedia has announced updates to its shop admin fees that all sellers need to be aware of. These changes are critical as they may lead to an increase in commission costs, which could affect pricing strategies and profit margins for sellers. Starting from December 16, this update will take effect and involves alterations to the cost limit system for the postage program.

Previously, the maximum postage rate applied was a flat fee of IDR 10,000 per order, irrespective of the number of items included. Sellers were allowed a maximum order value of IDR 1,000,000. For example, if a seller had an order consisting of two items where one was priced at IDR 100,000 and the other at IDR 900,000, the total order value would be IDR 1,000,000. The admin fee would then be calculated at 4%, which would amount to IDR 40,000; however, because of the maximum postage condition, sellers would only incur the maximum fee of IDR 10,000.

Under the new system, the postage cost will change to IDR 10,000 per item instead of per order. Although the individual item postage fee might seem minor, it can accumulate quickly as sellers fulfill multiple orders or sell multiple items within a single order.

It is essential for sellers to understand these changes thoroughly to adjust their pricing accordingly, ensuring that they do not incur losses due to the increased commission fees.
