SO CHEAP - Is this Argos Clearance store better than a Charity shop UK EBay & Vinted Reseller

Introduction

Hey everyone! Jack Flips eBay here, and I hope you're all doing well. It’s Wednesday, my day off again, and time seems to be flying by as we approach Christmas. Today, I’m heading to an Argos Clearance Store, which I find very exciting. Chloe and I visited it about a year and a half ago when I was focusing on my Amazon FBA business, and we found some interesting items then. This time, I plan to document the experience and see if we can score some great bargains.

Before that, let's talk about what I've sold on eBay so far. Today, I’ve sold three items, and although there are no sales yet on Vinted, it’s still been a productive day!

Recently Sold Items on eBay

  1. Leather and Suede Care Kit: I bought this for £2 and sold it for £7. A solid little flip.
  2. Bundle of Five Shoe Care Kits: I snagged this for £3 and sold it for £4. Not a massive profit, but it's good to see things moving.
  3. Aluminum Balloon Canister: This was a find from a charity shop, purchased for £1 and sold for £11. A great return!

Chloe won’t be with me today as she starts work later, but she did pop in to say hello before heading off. Also, here’s Ted—our fluffy companion—making an appearance!

Off to Clearance Bargains!

I’ve got the parcels packed in the car, ready for the Yodel drop-off. I usually ship with Yodel, which charges £2.69 for a parcel like this, and I charge £2.99 for shipping, so there's a small profit there.

Let’s get started on our trip to the clearance store, located in Corby. It’s about a 30-minute drive from here.

When I arrived at the Argos Clearance Store, officially called Clearance Bargains, I noticed it was quite busy. I grabbed a trolley and dived right into the extensive stock. Right off the bat, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the variety.

What I Found Inside

  • Prices varied widely, and while there is a lot of potential, some items weren't priced to flip profitably. For example, LEGO priced at £64.99 isn’t a deal I would touch.
  • There were items marked down from £25 to £9.99, but reselling them on eBay for £14 doesn’t leave much profit.
  • I quickly snagged a few bargains:
    • Toy sets: Bought for £5.99, expected resell for £15.
    • Doll dresses: Priced at £1.99 each, resale expected around £13—so I grabbed two.
    • Baby Annabelle doll: Priced at £10.99, expected to sell for £25.

Profit Potential

Overall, I picked up items that I anticipate could yield good profits, especially as we approach the busy Christmas shopping season. I spent £48.91 and expect to make about £163 in sales from these items if all goes well. Therefore, my potential profit could be around £114.

This time in the clearance store felt fruitful even if the options were a bit reduced compared to my last visit. It's always crucial to be smart about purchases, especially when inventory is high, to avoid overspending before the holidays.

Conclusion

I hope this glimpse into a clearance store has been helpful for those considering reselling on platforms like eBay and Vinted. Don’t forget that with some research and smart buying, you can potentially turn these finds into profitable sales. If you enjoyed this article, please like, comment, and subscribe for more content! I’m aiming for 8K subscribers by the end of the month, which would be incredible.
