Fabric Shopping in Portugal ? | Exploring Coimbra & Porto + My Fabric Haul!

Introduction

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm excited to share my recent adventures fabric shopping in Portugal, where I explored the charming towns of Coimbra and Porto.

Discovering Coimbra

As you may know, Coimbra was once the capital of Portugal before it shifted to Lisbon. I joined Sam on a road trip that took us through France and into Portugal. The weather was gloriously warm, a pleasant change from the rainy UK autumn. With fabric shopping on my agenda, I set out to explore what Coimbra had to offer.

Our first stop was a fabric store called Avenue 7. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a delightful selection of fabrics. While they had an array of beautiful options, their high prices reflected the quality of the fabrics. I ended up purchasing a stunning Italian wool fabric for €80, which was a remnant of 2.5 meters. It’s perfect for a pair of trousers!

While wandering the streets, I stumbled upon a cozy knitting shop nearby, which had an impressive collection of yarn. Although I don’t knit, it was fun to see everything they had for fellow crafters.

Next, I headed to another fabric store called Tsos Deco. This place stole the show, with a vast selection of knits, terries, and a range of colors that kept me browsing for over two hours! I ended up with a full bag of fabric goodies.

After that, I visited a smaller shop where I found haberdashery items and accessories for my sewing projects. After a busy day of shopping, I decided to take a break and explore more of Coimbra’s beautiful sights.

Exploring Porto

After a couple of days in Coimbra, we traveled to Porto. Despite the rainy weather, I was determined to continue my fabric hunt. I opted for a sporty outfit to navigate the city's hilly streets. My main destination was Fabric World, known for its extensive selection.

Upon arriving, I realized that one of the fabric shops I planned to visit was closed for lunch, so I used the time to explore the area, grab some lunch, and soak in the sights. Once the shop reopened, I was excited to see all the fabrics they had.

Fabric World did not disappoint, and I quickly discovered an array of materials that caught my eye. I browsed through fabrics like a beautiful brown needle cord and a trendy leopard print Viscose fabric. I couldn't help but feel inspired by the unique colorways and textures available.
