WEEK 1 BUDGET CHECK-IN, CASH STUFFING & SAVINGS CHALLENGES
Introduction
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my channel, and happy Sunday! I hope you’re all doing well and had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was quite nice; it was very relaxed and seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. It’s funny how all year we save and plan for the holidays, and then suddenly it’s over! I spent time with my mom and was spoiled with delicious food. I was also gifted lovely travel-related items that I truly needed.
As we move into Week 52, I’m here to check in for our budgeting and savings challenges, as well as do some cash stuffing for Week 1. Any leftover money will contribute to various savings challenges, and we’re going to play “Don’t Be A Chicken” today. This might be a quick video since I'm working today, but I find that having routine is helpful for me; too much downtime can feel draining sometimes.
Let’s take a look at the leftover money from last week.
Budget Check-In
- Groceries: I started with £20 and have £13 left, which means I spent £7.
- Travel: I had £20, and there’s £10 left, indicating I spent £10.
- Miscellaneous: I initially set aside £30 but have £15 remaining, so I spent £15.
- Spending: There was nothing left in this category, as all £30 went to "Don’t Be A Chicken."
So, in total, I ended up with £42 remaining which is pretty good! This allows us to do some fun savings challenges.
Cash Stuffing for Next Week
Here’s what I’m allocating for Week 1:
- Groceries: I’m putting in £20 because I ordered Gusto. I might cancel it given I have plenty of food at home.
- Travel: £20 is allocated here since I’m back at work next week.
- Miscellaneous & Spending: Both categories will get £30 each.
I don’t have much planned for next week, mainly just a outing on Sunday, so I expect some money will be left over once again.
Let’s move on to the leftover money distribution.
- Leftover £7: I plan to put this into my savings challenge for Domino.
- £8: I’ll add to the “Bank of Beans” challenge, completing it today.
- Additionally, I will also put money into “Don’t Be A Chicken,” and perhaps treat myself to a new lamp for my bedroom with the completed savings.
During the game "Don’t Be A Chicken", I strategized carefully. I avoided risky moves and successfully saved £7 by using my shoe size, which is a size 7.
I’m excited about the savings I’ve accumulated and rewarded myself with the little things I had planned. Thank you for being here, and I genuinely appreciate your support throughout the year! Looking forward to seeing you all next Sunday, which happens to be the start of the new year!
