Celebrating Indigenous Creators on TikTok for Native American Heritage Month

Indigenous creators on TikTok contribute to building community and spreading joy through traditions, breaking stereotypes, and educating people about their culture using music, dance, and food. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we are celebrating the rich and creative Indigenous community on TikTok by highlighting creators who share their culture, traditions, and creativity with their community.

To celebrate our #NativeFamily, we invite the global TikTok community to join us this November as we launch exciting initiatives for Native American Heritage Month. You can visit our in-app #NativeTikTok hub to experience our programming, featuring videos from the diverse diaspora of our Native and Indigenous creator community. Throughout the month, we will showcase inspiring creators and content that showcases Native American art, culture, and tribal heritage.

We have an exciting lineup of themed live events scheduled for this month, featuring creators @lennybeadhandzz and @lakotalighting. They will host live sessions about Native Beadwork and storytelling around Native traditions, respectively. Additionally, we will debut a Native American Heritage Month music playlist featuring a diverse range of Native music artists.

Let's meet some of our inspiring #NativeTikTok creators who educate and inspire the TikTok community by sharing their culture through food, music, dance, traditions, and more:

  • @beadsbycheydesigns: Cheyenne, a Native American artist with Lumbee and Shoshone-Bannock ancestry, shares her bead teachings to celebrate her heritage and pass down her culture to future generations.
  • @kararoselles: Kara Roselle Smith, an Afro-Indigenous creator, model, and writer, uses her platform to normalize unlearning and seek justice for the Black and Indigenous communities, including her tribe, the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag.
  • @lakotalightning: Chante Reddest, a Sićangu Lakota storyteller, shares Native American folklore and educates followers about his ancestors' history.
  • @lilino.e: Elisa, a Hawaiian and Sićangu Lakota content creator, educates followers about honoring her native home of Hawai'i and shares more about her intersexuality.
  • @storytellingwithem: Imalay, an Afro-Indigenous Taino creator from Puerto Rico, raises awareness about the true history of the Caribbean islands and helps lost souls reconnect with their Native roots. She also highlights her work as a professional children's entertainer.

Join us in celebrating our vibrant #NativeFamily of Indigenous creators on TikTok who use music, art, design, dance, and oral storytelling to share their traditions and personal experiences as proud members of Indigenous communities year-round.
