My Low Budget TikTok Ads Dropshipping Guide

Introduction

Introduction

Hey guys, it's Anthony from the Future. In just 72 hours, I've turned $ 50 into $ 500 using a low-budget TikTok ads testing strategy, which I'll be sharing with you today. Let's dive right into it!

Preliminary Steps

1. Finding a Winning Product

First and foremost, you need a winning product. I came across these viral 'boyfriend sweatpants' on TikTok. These are simple sweatpants with "I ♥ my boyfriend" printed on the back. When you search for this product on TikTok, you can find hundreds of videos, some garnering up to 3 million views. From there, I sourced the product on AliExpress and imported it to my Shopify store.

2. Setting Up a Branded Store

The second step is to set up a branded store. I'll show you my product page for instance. Building this website took me less than 30 minutes using a pre-built theme. It's fully automated with ChatGPT, so all you need to do is enter your product name, and it will generate the description for you. If you're interested in this pre-built theme, join my Discord using the link in the description below.

TikTok Campaign Setup

1. Creating the Campaign

Let's start by creating a new campaign on TikTok:

  • Click on Create a new campaign.
  • Select Conversion and then click Website conversions.
  • Name your campaign according to your product, e.g., 'Boyfriend Sweatpants Test'.
  • Enable Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) and set the budget to $ 50.
  • Set the ad group name to 'Open 1' and link your TikTok pixel, setting the optimization event to Complete Payment.

2. Placement and Targeting

  • Choose Select Placement and only run ads on TikTok.
  • Disable all advanced settings like comments, video downloading, and sharing to avoid negative feedback and distractions.
  • For location targeting, you can select the USA, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, or Germany.
  • Set the target audience's gender to ‘All’ and age to 18+.
  • Ignore all other demographics, interests, and device settings to keep the targeting broad.
  • Schedule the campaign to start at midnight the next day and enable Day Parting from 8 a.m. to midnight.

3. Ad Creative

For the ad creative section:

  • Use three ads in total.
  • Upload your chosen videos, ensuring they are ethical and not directly copied from competitors.
  • Use non-specific, vague sales texts like "BOGO Sale Ends Tonight at Midnight!" to avoid competitors finding and copying your content.
  • Enter your store URL and verify it using the preview button.
  • Uncheck the box to prevent your videos from appearing on the Creative Center.

Submit your ad and your campaign should be scheduled to run.

Day-by-Day Progress

Day 1

After the first day, our ads spent the full $ 50 budget and resulted in three orders, totaling $ 134.95. The cost per purchase was $ 16, which is below the break-even point, yielding a net profit of $ 45 at a 33% margin.

Day 2

We increased our budget to $ 95, based on our profits from day one. By the end of day two, we had seven orders totaling $ 314.65. This resulted in a net profit of $ 128.19 at a 41% margin.

Day 3

On day three, we increased our budget to $ 223, combining the previous day's profit and ad spend. By the end of the day, we had 13 orders with overall revenue of $ 624, translating to a net profit of $ 230.

Conclusion

Within 72 hours, I successfully scaled a dropshipping product from $ 50 to $ 1,000 in revenue and $ 400 in net profit. While it's not tens of thousands, it demonstrates how a simple, low-budget strategy can generate significant profits.
