Data Privacy Day: TikTok's Commitment to Privacy

Today is Data Privacy Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about privacy rights and the responsibility of companies in protecting those rights. At TikTok, we recognize the importance of privacy and are committed to promoting and supporting it in our day-to-day work.

To educate our community, we provide resources such as our Safety Center and in-app videos on @TikTokTips. These resources help users understand how we keep their data safe and the privacy options available to them. We empower our community to make choices about their privacy, such as making their account private or controlling who can interact with their videos.

Privacy is a fundamental aspect of TikTok. We have built privacy into the design of our platform to ensure that users can confidently discover, create, and enjoy content. We offer a wide range of privacy settings, allowing users to customize their TikTok experience according to their comfort level.

Our commitment to privacy goes beyond a single day or month. We continuously work on enhancing privacy features and improving transparency. For instance, we have set accounts under age 16 to private by default, launched Transparency and Accountability Centers, and implemented additional protective measures for teens.

Privacy is a priority year-round at TikTok, and we are dedicated to upholding the high standards expected by our community.
