TikTok Celebrates Arab American Heritage Month

Throughout the month of April and beyond, TikTok is celebrating Arab American Heritage by recognizing the contributions and impact of the #ArabTikTok community. The Arab community on TikTok inspires us all year round, whether we’re following trends or learning about Arab culture and history through the lens of our creators.

For National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM), TikTok is proud to shine a light on the creators and businesses who uplift and champion the Arab community every day on the platform and within their local neighborhoods.

To celebrate #ArabTikTok NAAHM, TikTok has organized a series of exciting programs and in-app experiences:

  1. #ArabTikTok: Users can view in-app hashtag programming and check out the #ArabTikTok content hub to join the celebration and discover the inspiring creators being recognized for NAAHM.

  2. LIVE streams: Throughout April, TikTok will host pop-up LIVE segments with some of the platform's most inspiring #ArabTikTok creators in fashion, music, and entertainment. Stay tuned to @TikTok for more information on the LIVE schedule lineup!

  3. #ArabTikTok SMB Spotlights: TikTok is spotlighting Arab-owned small businesses in fashion, food, and more, to help users discover new entrepreneurs who are making a difference. Follow @TikTokForBusiness to tune in to the latest posts and watch the special #ArabTikTok SMB video series throughout April.

  4. #PassTheAux: Visit the sounds page on TikTok for special playlists featuring Arab music stars, including R&B singer-songwriter Ilham and award-winning singer-songwriter Najwa Karam.

TikTok also highlights several #ArabTikTok creators who proudly amplify Arab culture and community on and off the platform. These creators include:

  • Mariam (@mxriyum): A passionate chef and baker who shares her mother's recipes and her own original recipes with her 7.4 million followers.

  • Adeib (@adeibb): A photographer and comedian who keeps the TikTok community laughing with relatable, anxiety-driven bedtime stories.

  • Micheline Maalouf (@micheline.maalouf): A creator who specializes in anxiety and complex trauma, using her platform to raise awareness about mental health issues.

  • The Golden Balance (@thegoldenbalance): A creator who shares his passion for cooking by putting his own spin on global dishes, inspiring others to cook.

  • Food Dolls (@fooddolls): Two sisters who love to cook and experiment in the kitchen, sharing delicious and easy recipes that empower others to feel comfortable and confident in their cooking skills.

TikTok also highlights several Arab-owned small businesses, including Z&Z / Manouche Bakery, Nominal, Modish Hijab, Sound of Mazzika, Elite by Jupiter, and Dukkan Foods.
