TikTok Pride 2021: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Community and Unity

Earlier this month, we initiated our Pride 2021 celebration with a global call to action: Free to be. This phrase represents the freedom to live life on your own terms, without the fear of judgment or harassment. It also encompasses the importance of finding support and community to live authentically and the empowerment to share your true self with the world. As a global entertainment platform, we have been inspired by the unity and strength displayed by the LGBTQ+ community and its allies worldwide.

The festivities are far from over! On June 24th, we invite you to join us for the first-ever global TikTok Pride Finale, a live event featuring artists, creators, and the TikTok community. This 12-hour program will showcase musical performances, makeup tutorials, Q&As, and more from around the world. The event will kick off with a performance by Kesha, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and LGBTQ+ advocate. Kesha has achieved great success in the music industry and is known for her support of equality and acceptance.

Throughout the event, we will also highlight some of our LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers, such as the Coyle Twins, who transform into drag queens Sugar and Spice, and The Goddess Boys, known for their work in makeup and fashion. Additionally, there will be musical performances by artists like Tinashe, who is a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.

Although Pride Month 2021 is coming to an end, our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ community remains steadfast. The #lgbt hashtag on TikTok has garnered almost 120 billion views, serving as a source of inspiration, support, and a platform for individuals to express their true selves. Join our global community in celebrating #ForYourPride and discover the diverse ways in which creativity comes to life.

We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community not just during Pride Month, but every day. Don't miss the live finale on June 24th at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET, exclusively on TikTok. If you're new to TikTok, you can download the app for free from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon.
