StemDrop: A Global Collaboration Project for Music and Art on TikTok

StemDrop is a global collaboration project created by TikTok, Syco, Universal Music Group, Republic Records, and Samsung. It aims to provide opportunities for both up-and-coming and established artists to collaborate with renowned hit-makers. The project explores the idea of what would happen if you wrote a song and shared it with the world.

Over the past two months, the response has been incredible. After the songwriting team of Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ali Payami released Red Lights on TikTok, the creative community has been reworking, creating, and uploading their own versions of the song in various genres such as country, hip hop, acoustic, dance, and drum 'n' bass. It has truly become a collaborative project.

On December 12th, StemDrop will host a special TikTok LIVE event at Samsung KX to showcase some of the most exciting artists discovered through the program. Music mogul Simon Cowell, StemDrop visionary, will be in attendance along with Jaden Smith. TikTok music curator Ari Elkins and Norwegian singer-songwriter Astrid S, who have been posting daily content on the @StemDrop channel, will co-host the event.

Jaden Smith expressed his excitement about joining StemDrop, describing it as an amazing mass collaboration project that brings together music and art on TikTok.

The event will feature emerging artists Sad Alex, Kyle Reppa, Aimee Vant, Armonie Jay, and Denzel Chain, who will perform their own renditions of Red Lights live for the first time.

Sad Alex, known as "the happiest sad girl you've ever met," incorporated different song names produced by Max Martin into her rendition of Red Lights. Kyle Reppa, a country singer from Nashville, impressed the StemDrop hosts and TikTok community with his version of the song. Aimee Vant, a singer-songwriter from Reading, Massachusetts, caught the attention of the TikTok community with her nuanced and delicate vocals. Armonie Jay, a stunning vocalist from Los Angeles, California, used a duetted sound on TikTok to raise awareness about depression. Denzel Chain, a singer, songwriter, producer, and actor from the Netherlands, received early recognition for his version of Red Lights, with users commenting "He is a real star."

Let's come together on TikTok and create music and art through this amazing mass collaboration project called StemDrop.
