TikTok is continuously building features for creators, small businesses, advertisers, and people to represent the most authentic version of themselves and connect with new communities. Studies have shown that promoting organic content improves overall paid ad performance. Seeing an organic TikTok video before a paid ad increases aided brand recall by 27% and captures attention on the ads 12% longer, according to a recent study by Neurons.

Era Qirjo, owner of the ecommerce fashion brand Blanche Allure, used Promote to build brand awareness and reach new customers. By using Promote on her LIVE and product videos, Era saw a 30% lift in traffic and an increase in overall sales. Similarly, Chris Mitchell, an acclaimed jazz saxophonist, used TikTok Promote to take his account to the next level. By setting specific ad goals and customizing his intended audience, Chris increased his website subscribers by 17% and gained over 5,000 followers on TikTok.

The new Promote features aim to make advertising easy and accessible for small businesses and creators. Highlights include:

  • Drive views to their TikTok page: Advertisers can now drive traffic back to their TikTok page to tell their brand's story or showcase products or services. Viewers will be directed to the advertiser's TikTok profile.

  • Spark deeper engagement with more messages: Small businesses, service providers, B2B brands, and businesses that take custom orders can now drive traffic to their TikTok inbox.

  • Build brand love by boosting creators' content: Small businesses working with creators can promote their videos or LIVE videos to increase views among their target audience. Creators can also use Promote for Others to boost the content, creators, and businesses they want to be seen.

  • Get in front of the right audience with location targeting: Promote now includes location, gender, age, and interests for audience targeting. This allows small businesses with physical locations to directly target their local community. Advertisers can let TikTok pick the audience or create their own custom audience based on gender, age, interests, and location.
