I bought things from *TIKTOK ADS*... LET'S TEST THEM

Introduction

Oh boy, oh boy, oh my God! Today, I'm diving into the exciting world of TikTok ads by testing out some intriguing products that piqued my interest while scrolling through my feed. If you’re new to my channel, you should know that I don’t usually wear my makeup this dramatically, but I recently recreated Megan Thee Stallion’s Grammy makeup look for a TikTok and thought, why not keep this glam on for a video about TikTok products?

Every so often, while mindlessly scrolling, I encounter ads for the most random things—sometimes beauty products, other times cookie dough or even mattresses. I decided to give in to curiosity and actually order a few of these items to see if they really live up to the hype. I think I've done a similar experiment before with products from TikTok live streams, but this focuses on ads specifically.

Lip Plumping Product

The first item that caught my eye came from multiple TikTok accounts and seemed to promise a lip-plumping effect without the need for fillers. The product was from Syrup Cosmetics, advertised at a steep discount. It claimed to reduce the price from $ 50.95 to $ 28.95, which I highly suspect is just a marketing strategy. After a quick search on Amazon, I found the same product for just £9.

I decided to test the daytime and nighttime lip plumper on my lips. As I applied the daytime one, the tingling sensation quickly escalated to a painful burn, comparable to rubbing hot chilies on my lips. A few minutes later, I could see a noticeable difference in the plumpness of my lips, but the pain was almost unbearable. I later tried the nighttime version, which felt a bit like a moisturizer but still tingled significantly.

Ice Face Massager

Next, I bought an ice face massager from a brand called Contour Pod, inspired by a TikTok ad showcasing its refreshing effects after regular use. Despite the ad making it seem revolutionary, I found the same item available for a much lower price on Amazon.

Once I had frozen the massager, I began testing it. As I rolled it over my skin, it felt shockingly cold—almost painful at times. While it seemed to help de-puff my face, the discomfort made me think that there are definitely more effective and comfortable options on the market.

Shapewear

The next two products were shapewear items, one from a brand called Deluxa, which touted body-sculpting benefits. I examined a pair of structured shorts known for their booty-enhancing effects. Upon wearing it, I found it incredibly tight, which only emphasized rather than concealed my belly. It was definitely not the transformative experience I was hoping for; in fact, it made my body feel significantly less flattering.

Boob Lifting Bra

The last product aimed to enhance cleavage without surgery—a set of plastic cups meant to squish the breasts together. This was something I was particularly skeptical about, as I couldn't imagine how they would work for a smaller chest size like mine. After struggling to put it on, it ended up looking awkward and felt incredibly uncomfortable due to the hard plastic digging into my skin.

Overall, each of these TikTok ads sold me on products that did not deliver the promised results.
