Celebrating LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers: RJ and Adrian

As we celebrate Pride 2021, we are featuring the inspiring stories of LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers on our Creator Spotlight Series. One of these trailblazers is RJ and Adrian, also known as The Goddess Boys (@rjchumbley), who are making waves in the makeup and fashion industry. They are breaking down the boundaries of gender norms and creating a community where everyone can express themselves as 'goddess babes.'

Pride, to RJ and Adrian, means being proud of who you are. It starts with self-discovery and evolves into being proud of being part of a beautiful and supportive community. Their identity as both feminine and masculine individuals, using he/they pronouns, has allowed them to be true to themselves and embrace the diverse range of human identity. It has also given them the freedom to explore and understand their gender identities and sexuality, separate from each other. They no longer feel confined by heteronormative expectations and can be their most authentic selves, while accepting others for who they are.

To celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community, RJ and Adrian uplift and support other queer creators on various social platforms. They use their platform to advocate for and amplify the diverse voices within the community.

The TikTok community has been a great source of inspiration for RJ and Adrian. They are amazed by the endless creativity and the diverse talents and experiences showcased by people from all walks of life. It has made the world a more beautiful and educated community.

When asked about their proudest video, RJ and Adrian mentioned that it is actually the fourth video posted on Adrian's channel, @beingadp.

For other creators, they advise being true to oneself and finding the right community that will support and uplift them. They encourage finding a niche, being original, and having fun with content creation. They also emphasize the importance of practice and not taking it too seriously. They find inspiration from others and believe that there is a community for every interest.

To the next generation of the LGBTQ+ community, RJ and Adrian advise surrounding oneself with people who allow personal growth and self-acceptance. They urge not to let the narrow-mindedness of others hinder self-love and acceptance.

In terms of being allies to the LGBTQ+ community, RJ and Adrian suggest educating oneself about the diverse identities within the queer community. They encourage researching discriminatory laws and spreading awareness. They also emphasize the importance of having difficult conversations with family, friends, and coworkers, correcting and informing them about the impact of their words and actions on the LGBTQIA+ community and other minority communities within it.
