Celebrating Latinx Heritage Month with TikTok Creator Spotlights

TikTok is excited to kick off Creator Spotlights in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month. Throughout the month, 15 Latinx Trailblazers will be featured, sharing their journeys on TikTok and what it means to be a Trailblazer in the community.

Jesús Morales: A First-Generation Mexican Immigrant Making a Difference

The first featured creator is Jesús Morales, also known as @juixxe on TikTok. Jesús, a first-generation Mexican immigrant and Latino, has touched the hearts of millions with his acts of kindness. He collects donations from his followers to support street vendors and shares these heartwarming interactions on TikTok. Over the past year, Jesús has given out over $110,000 in cash donations to vendors in Southern California.

Embracing the Latinx Community and Culture

In an interview, Jesús expressed his pride in being part of the Latinx community. He attributes it to the sacrifices of his parents who came to this country with a dream of providing a better future for their children. Jesús sees his voice and ability to help the community as blessings, and he hopes to inspire future generations through his impact.

Jesús also shared how his culture has influenced and shaped him. Growing up in his culture has instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of pride in his roots. On TikTok, Jesús continuously shares stories of Latinxs from different countries who have come to seek a better life. He also emphasizes the importance of unity within the community in his videos, often speaking Spanish to connect with his audience.

Sharing Culture Beyond TikTok

Beyond TikTok, Jesús shares his culture by creating merchandise that represents Mexican and immigrant culture. He actively supports Latinx-owned small businesses and promotes them on his social media platforms.

Inspiration and Advice for Creators

Jesús credits the TikTok community for inspiring him to give back online. Seeing other creators using their platforms to create miracles for strangers in their communities motivated him to do the same for the Latinx community.

Jesús is most proud of a video where he gifted a street vendor $20,000 in cash. This act of generosity exceeded his expectations and brought him immense pride.

For other creators, Jesús advises creating content that they genuinely love and have a purpose behind. He emphasizes the importance of remembering why they are creating and staying true to their passions.

Lastly, Jesús recommends following @leogonzall and other Latinx creators who are making a positive impact on TikTok.
