TikTok's #CreateKindness Campaign: Promoting Kindness and Creativity

At TikTok, we value creativity and embrace our diverse community. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for people worldwide, where they can freely express themselves and support each other. To promote kindness in everyday life, we have launched the #CreateKindness campaign, a global safety initiative and creative video series.

This month, we are featuring six talented creator-animators who have partnered with us to bring the campaign to life. These creators have written, animated, and lent their voices to videos that reflect their unique styles and personal experiences with online bullying.

Today, we are also celebrating Edmond Anirah (@recokh), an animator who combines humor and music in his videos to share insights into his life and experiences. He draws inspiration from the TikTok community for his art, and he continues to create and share his work on TikTok because of the platform's acceptance of new creators.

When asked about the kindest comment he has received about his art on TikTok, Edmond mentioned that someone once said, 'Why aren't you on Cartoon Network!' This comment has been the best compliment he has received.

If Edmond had to illustrate kindness, he would depict it as the Little Angel character from his video for the #CreateKindness campaign. This character would have a big bright smile and a sweet, comforting voice.

Edmond finds inspiration from many TikTok creators, but he particularly admires @felleanimated, @KallmeKris, @ItskingChris, and @zobeebop.

The TikTok community is special because it is accepting of new creators. This inclusivity is what makes the platform magical.

When asked about why people bully or try to hurt others, especially online, Edmond believes that people bully for two main reasons: either because they are going through negative experiences in their own lives or because they think the person they are bullying won't see their comments.

To make the internet a kinder and more inclusive place, Edmond suggests that simply responding to others with kindness can go a long way.

In his video for the #CreateKindness campaign, Edmond wanted to be the voice of reassurance for others, as he had experienced self-doubt during a career shift. The Little Angel and Little Devil characters in his video represent the conflicting thoughts in his head, but he specifically designed the Little Angel's voice to be a source of positivity and love. He believes that this voice can remind people that everything will be okay.

You can find Edmond's video for the #CreateKindness campaign on our Discover page throughout the month, as well as permanently on @TikTokTips. We also invite you to join our #CreateKindness hashtag challenge and share the kind comments and inspiring moments you have experienced.
