Celebrating Women Who Will
Celebrating Women Who Will
In celebration of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, we are honoring the incredible women who continue to make a positive impact on the global TikTok community and beyond through their creativity, passion, and advocacy. This year's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity, calling for everyone to actively support and challenge gender stereotypes and discrimination. The #WomenofTikTok movement brings together a diverse group of women changemakers, pioneers, leaders, and allies who use their voices to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote gender equality. From popular hashtags like #WomeninSTEM and #WomeninSports to women entrepreneurs and activists, the #WomenofTikTok community supports and connects with one another.
TikTok provides boundless opportunities for women from all walks of life, and this month we are excited to showcase creators, artists, and celebrities who inspire and empower women. We will also feature women-owned businesses, non-profits, and voices from our global community. Throughout March, we will have in-app programming that highlights creators, women-owned businesses, and non-profit organizations making a significant impact on and off TikTok.
We are proud to support women in music on TikTok, with special announcements and live events featuring artists like Shania Twain and Karol G. Our Sounds page will feature playlists curated by Kim Petras and Kesha, celebrating Women's History Month and various genres. We have planned exciting live programming and events, including the 'Girls Room' lineup on March 8th, featuring inspiring voices in fashion and fitness. We are also hosting the "Women Who Will" community event series in cities across the United States.
As a platform that fosters creativity and joy, we are committed to providing a safe space for women to share their stories and thrive. We will spotlight non-profits that amplify the voices of women and marginalized communities, including organizations like Black Girl Ventures and Kode with Klossy. We are proud to partner with The Circle, a global feminist non-profit organization co-founded by Annie Lennox, to support grassroots women-led organizations in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Our partnership aims to economically empower women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence.
We recognize the ongoing journey towards equality and are dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing support to women on and off the platform. TikTok's Women employee resource group will highlight inspiring stories of our employees and strive to connect, educate, and empower all employees within and outside of the workplace.
Join us this International Women's Day as we celebrate and elevate the stories and voices of the strong, remarkable, and creative #WomenofTikTok. Download the TikTok app for free to be a part of our global community.
