Celebrating Native American Heritage Month on TikTok

TikTok is a vibrant community of Indigenous creators and artists who share their stories and culture on the platform. In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, TikTok is launching exciting initiatives to amplify the voices of Indigenous peoples.

Hashtags & In-App Creative Effects

Starting November 1, 2021, TikTok users can access stickers celebrating the culture of the Indigenous community. There will also be a dedicated Discover page showcasing boundary-pushing creators, the LIVE programming schedule, and incredible organizations dedicated to the Native American community.

LIVE Programming and Music

TikTok will host LIVEs every Tuesday in November, featuring creators who will be streaming about Native Beadwork, Native food, and Native traditions. They will also debut a Native American Heritage Month music playlist featuring new and old artists.

Creators to Watch

TikTok is spotlighting inspiring Native and Indigenous creators who are fostering community and making a positive impact both on and off the platform. These creators include Asheisgod, Chad Lorenzo, Cheyenne, Coyotl, Diamond Dog, Nasheen Sleuth, Imalay, Geronimo Louie, Giiwedin, Zane Switzer, John, Tonalmitl, Kara Roselle Smith, Carli, Lenise Omeasoo, Lilinoe, Chante', Verna Volker, Nayha Mills, Sterlingsilver, Pawneeboy, Nikki, Reyna Chabeli, Roxy Ren, and Tania Teyacapan.

Supporting the Community

TikTok continues to support education and entrepreneurship by donating $100,000 across three organizations. The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships and programming to improve Native American student access to higher education. The Association on American Indian Affairs supports sovereignty, culture, and education in Indian Country. American Indian Services aids Native Americans in pursuing their dreams while honoring their culture and heritage.
