Celebrating LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers: Alex Renee

Celebrating LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers: Alex Renee\n\nThis month, we're shining a spotlight on the inspiring stories of LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers. In this edition, we feature Alex Renee (@stapleyourmouthshut), a 17-year-old content creator who has gained popularity for their 'masculine to feminine' transition videos.\n\nAlex's TikTok journey began with making POVs and has evolved into a platform where they share their personal experiences and raise awareness for important causes. In addition to being a content creator, Alex also runs their own jewelry business and sells paintings made by their disabled sister to raise awareness and funds for Cytomegalovirus (CMV).\n\nPride holds a special meaning for Alex as it represents owning oneself and embracing every part of who you are, regardless of gender expression. Their genderfluid/queer identity has influenced their daily life, from their changing wardrobe to how they carry themselves. Despite facing challenges such as body dysphoria and lack of acceptance from some individuals, Alex is proud of who they are and believes that self-acceptance is what truly matters.\n\nTo support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, Alex actively spreads awareness and educates others. They are looking forward to attending in-person Pride events this year, now that they are fully vaccinated. They also appreciate the opportunity to connect with the community through virtual Pride events.\n\nThe TikTok community has been a great source of inspiration for Alex. They are amazed by the beauty and creativity of LGBTQ+ creators they come across on their For You Page. Seeing others express themselves and gain confidence from Alex's videos brings them joy.\n\nOne of Alex's proudest creations is a transition video using the sound 'Satisfaction.' This video went viral and inspired many other creators to participate in the trend.\n\nWhen it comes to advice for other content creators, Alex emphasizes the importance of having confidence in their content and believing in its potential success. Confidence is key to achieving TikTok success.\n\nTo the next generation of the LGBTQ+ community, Alex offers the advice that even though they may feel different, there are others who share similar experiences. The LGBTQ+ community is a supportive one, and while not everyone may fully understand their struggles, those who make an effort to understand are worth having in their lives. Alex encourages them to surround themselves with supportive people and not let unsupportive individuals hinder their personal growth.\n\nBeing a good ally to the LGBTQ+ community involves treating them with respect, just like any other person. It's important to ask questions, but also to do personal research and education. Constantly asking someone struggling with their identity can be overwhelming, so independent research benefits both parties. Being a good ally is as simple as recognizing our shared humanity and treating LGBTQ+ individuals with respect.\n\nAlex recommends following some LGBTQ+ TikTok creators, such as @jaxsilv, a queer trans activist who openly shares his journey and educates his followers, and @alyssareignnn, a bisexual creator who discusses her sexuality and mental health. Alyssa's videos provide comfort and validation, especially when addressing confusion about sexuality.\n\nIn conclusion, Alex's story is one of self-discovery, acceptance, and using their platform to raise awareness and support for the LGBTQ+ community. They find inspiration in the TikTok community and hope to continue making a positive impact through their content and advocacy.
