Announcement: Update to Global Security Organization

The Global Chief Security Officer of the company, Roland Cloutier, has announced his transition from the role to a strategic advisory position. This new role will focus on the business impact of security and trust programs. Roland will be working directly with Shou, Dingkun, and other senior leaders.

TikTok prioritizes the security and privacy of its global community. The platform continuously works to strengthen its security measures to stay ahead of next-generation cyberthreats. Collaboration with industry-leading experts, testing of defenses, and validation of security standards are some of the accomplishments. TikTok has also earned ISO 27001 certifications in multiple countries and established relationships with top organizations in the cybersecurity field.

Roland Cloutier expresses immense pride in the work done over the past 2+ years and looks forward to the future achievements of TikTok and its global community.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew and ByteDance VP of Technology Dingkun Hong acknowledge Roland's passion and commitment to safeguarding the global community. They highlight his instrumental role in improving safety controls and addressing data security concerns. As part of the evolving approach, a new department has been created to manage US user data for TikTok, which changes the scope of the Global Chief Security Officer role.

In light of this, Roland has decided to step back from day-to-day operations as Global CSO and take on the role of strategic advisor to the company. Kim Albarella will serve as interim head of the Global Security Organization to ensure a smooth transition. The dedication and collaboration of the global and US security teams are appreciated in the continued success of prioritizing data privacy and security excellence.
