TikTok: Inspiring Creativity and Connecting Communities

This milestone would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of our 7,000 employees in the US and our incredible community worldwide.

TikTok has also become the preferred platform for nearly 5 million businesses, including small businesses, seeking expansion and success. For example, Spencer Russell, CEO and founder, left his job to create an online course platform that helps parents teach their children to read. Through TikTok, his platform, Toddlers CAN Read (@toddlerscanread), has reached a wide audience. Another example is Jessie Whittington, who founded Country Lather Soap Works and found support in TikTok's #SoapTok community, benefiting her life and business.

These are just a few examples of the countless small business owners in the US who are building communities and creating economic opportunities on TikTok. To showcase these inspiring journeys, we have launched TikTok Sparks Good, a docuseries featuring 60-second stories that celebrate the successes of creators on TikTok and their real-world impact.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are also addressing concerns about national security. We have taken unprecedented steps to enhance safeguards for our US users, investing $1.5 billion in TikTok US Data Security and building a comprehensive framework to protect user data. To provide transparency and address common questions, we have launched the U.S. Data Security (USDS) site.

Our CEO, Shou Chew, will appear before Congress this week to outline the steps we are taking to protect our users and uphold our mission of inspiring creativity and spreading joy.
