Zero to $5,000 in 7 Days Dropshipping Challenge (Live Results)
Introduction
Today, I’m embarking on another ambitious journey—starting a brand new online business aimed at maximizing profits within just 7 days. If you’ve been following this channel, you’re likely aware that my last dropshipping challenge yielded over $ 11,000 in revenue, so my expectations for this venture are set high.
Step 1: Finding the Right Product
The first step is to identify a product that has strong market potential. As I scrolled through TikTok, I stumbled upon two promising products. The first was turmeric skincare patches, which help with pimples and uneven skin tones. While it’s a low-cost item with an appealing solution for many women, the competition is intense.
The second product I discovered was a mini steam iron tailored for travel use. Given the summer travel season, this product piqued my interest as I recently faced the hassle of wrinkled clothes during a trip to Brazil. Its compact size and effectiveness made it an ideal choice for a dropshipping business.
After careful consideration, I decided to go with the mini steam iron due to its practical application and lesser competition.
Step 2: Creating the Website
Having chosen the product, I proceeded to build a professional-looking website. If you missed my previous video where I taught how to create a branded dropshipping website for free, make sure to check that out because the process was similar.
Once the website was ready, I focused on branding, consistency, and making sure the product page was attractive. The design included high-quality images, a strong product description, and options for color selection, alongside testimonials to boost credibility.
Step 3: Launching the Ad Campaign
To drive traffic to my store, I decided to use TikTok for my advertising, as it is a platform many of you are familiar with. I created multiple ad sets to test different creatives, allocating a budget of $ 25 per ad set to measure performance.
I also set up a Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) campaign with a $ 100 budget and one ad group. This plan enabled me to track which creatives converted best while allowing TikTok to optimize spending on the performing ads.
Day-by-Day Results
Day 1
The morning after launching the campaigns, I was ecstatic to discover that we had made our first sale with just 16 visitors to the site, even though initial click costs were high.
Day 3
By day three, sales had increased to $ 192, with a conversion rate of around 1.84%. I evaluated ad performance and made adjustments to optimize the ads further.
Day 4
By day four, sales skyrocketed to $ 473 with 13 orders. The campaigns had begun to yield better results, allowing us to confidently scale up our budgets on successful ads.
Day 5
On day five, I celebrated my birthday while the sales kept rolling in. We made $ 1,336, showcasing the potential this product had for generating income.
Day 6
The momentum continued into day six, with total revenue of $ 1,375, even after testing new offers.
Day 7
Unfortunately, day seven was not as fruitful; we recorded only $ 327 in sales and a loss due to product testing. However, despite this setback, the overall performance over the week had resulted in a remarkable total profit.
Conclusion
After tracking all the financials through the challenge, we generated a total profit of $ 925 over the span of a week. This experience showed me the value of proper testing and understanding customer needs in dropshipping.
Though the profit margins weren't perfect, the insights gained were invaluable, and I’m considering maintaining this product line for the future.
