Zero to $1,000 a Day Dropshipping Challenge

Introduction

Embarking on a dropshipping journey involves identifying winning products, setting up an efficient Shopify store, and unleashing targeted advertising campaigns. In this exhilarating challenge, we aim to take a brand new Shopify store from scratch to generating over $ 1,000 a day within just a week.

Setting the Rules

To ensure the integrity of this challenge, I established three fundamental rules:

  1. I cannot rely on friends or external connections; everything must be done independently.
  2. Any day that hits $ 1,000 in sales must achieve at least a 20% profit margin, which is typical for dropshipping stores.
  3. If I don't meet the challenge by the end of the week, I will give away $ 3,000 to the top three comments on the next video.

Finding Winning Products

With the holiday season upon us, there couldn't be a better time to dive into dropshipping. My preferred method for finding winning products utilizes TikTok Shop. This platform showcases top-selling products, allowing anyone to capitalize on items that are currently trending.

While scrolling through TikTok, I came across thermal gloves that seemed promising. To gather more data, I turned to a tool called Kalo Data, which aggregates product performance from TikTok Shop. There, I discovered that these gloves had recently become a hot item, generating over $ 100,000 in sales in just one day.

The strategy here is to focus on products with minimal competition. With the gloves just entering the market and performing well on TikTok, I knew this was worth testing on Facebook Ads.

Creating an Engaging Shopify Store

Using the DropShipped Shopify application, I quickly built and optimized my store, selecting the best images and structuring the layout. Within no time, I had a sleek, professional store ready to go.

The store featured:

  • A carousel display to highlight the benefits of the gloves.
  • Centered text for better visibility.
  • A "Compare at Price" feature to entice buyers with discounts.
  • A bundle offer to increase the average order value.

After finalizing the store's setup, I launched my Facebook ad campaign, targeting broad audience segments to let the algorithm do its job.

Day-by-Day Updates

Day 1: The first day yielded decent results with $ 70 in sales from four orders, achieving a 2% conversion rate from 100 sessions.

Day 2: Progress continued on Day 2 with a total of $ 130 in sales from six orders, maintaining a solid conversion rate.

Day 3: Growth continued as we saw another $ 130 earned, but with increased ad spend leading to an unprofitable CPA. The need arose to explore new products.

Realizing the gloves might not cut it, I engaged in a deep dive for new product ideas. During a weekly Discord call, I shared my product research strategies and found five contenders for testing.

New Product Candidates:

  1. Makeup Bag: Showing over 58,000 orders and active engagement.
  2. Dress: Had a positive reception on TikTok with high interaction.
  3. Hoodie with Built-in Mask: Trendy among a younger demographic.

Final Days: After launching these contenders, the makeup bag on TikTok resulted in $ 3.5k in revenue with a great return on ad spend, surpassing $ 1k in daily sales.

Conclusion and Learnings

After scaling and adapting strategies, I was able to meet the challenge, ultimately achieving over $ 3,500 in sales on the final day. The key takeaway is that dropshipping is not just luck; it’s a skill that can be developed through research, persistence, and execution. For anyone feeling frustrated after previous attempts, it’s essential to keep pushing, learning, and adjusting approaches.
