I Tried TikTok Organic Dropshipping And Made $ 5381
In the past year, I've made some impressive earnings with TikTok organic dropshipping. Recently, I decided to challenge myself once again, this time starting from scratch with $ 0 and no ads, relying solely on organic traffic. Here's a detailed account of my journey and how I managed to make $ 4,700 in sales within five days, all purely from TikTok.
Finding the Right Product
Starting with nothing but an idea, the first step was to identify a product that had potential to go viral on TikTok. I scoured through popular hashtags like #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt and #AmazonFinds, and took note of a few potential products after about two hours of scrolling:
- Smoothie Maker
- Eyelash Dryer
- Blackhead Remover
After evaluating these options for their "wow" factor and practicality, I used Shop Hunter (a spy tool) to analyze other dropshipping stores’ performances with these products. Shop Hunter allows you to see how much money other stores are making, and it confirmed an upward trend in sales for similar products, making it an invaluable tool in my decision-making process.
Eventually, I landed on a lamp that seemed unique and had the potential for virality—essential for organic traffic success.
Setting Up the Store
I rebranded an old TikTok account I had with a few hundred followers and gave it a new name and logo. Next, I created a Shopify store to align with my TikTok account. I sourced the lamp from AliExpress for $ 8 and set a selling price of $ 33.
I used ChatGPT to generate a compelling product description, imported GIFs and images, altered the Shopify template, and added reviews using the Vitals app. I also purchased a domain name and finalized the look and feel of the store.
Creating Content
The success of this strategy heavily depends on posting lots of content on TikTok and hoping some of it goes viral. I ordered the lamp from Amazon and began creating a ton of content. I focused on faceless videos, which I’ve seen work well on TikTok. I posted these videos throughout the day over a five-day period, using CapCut for editing.
To increase my chances of virality, I based my videos on other successful TikToks with similar products. Answering comments on my videos also proved to be an effective strategy for driving engagement and visibility. Even a semi-viral video can boost sales significantly.
Sales Performance
Day one saw modest results with just two sales, but day two brought in a semi-viral video with 200,000 views, resulting in around $ 700 in sales. Days three and four were phenomenal, with over 3,000 views, earning $ 3,000 over those two days. Though day five witnessed a dip in sales to $ 900, the total for the five days was an impressive $ 4,700. After accounting for product costs, my profit was around $ 3,000.
Conclusion
This experiment not only validated the potential of TikTok organic dropshipping but also showed that starting with $ 0, leveraging existing tools, and putting in the hard work can lead to significant earnings. I plan to continue with this store due to its promising start.
