In this article, I will take you through my experience of completing a 24-hour dropshipping challenge, serving as the finale of our dropshipping course. Having already shared extensive knowledge about dropshipping strategies, this final challenge will help solidify what we’ve learned. After this, we'll move onto the more advanced concepts in our upcoming master course.

Finding a Winning Product

The first requirement for dropshipping is identifying a winning product. I have selected a foldable, extendable travel bag designed for ladies, which I added to my product list. This bag has been thoroughly researched and is ready for listing on my dropshipping website.

However, it is crucial to ensure that the product is not only desirable but also available on a dropshipping platform. I turned to HSC Dropshipping to verify its availability. Upon searching for “women’s travel bag,” I found the foldable bag I had chosen. As a reminder, I have previously discussed which dropshipping suppliers are more reliable, so always check for the best rates before moving forward.

The bag was priced at ₹1,111 on the HSC website, and I set my selling price at ₹1,999. This results in a profit calculation as follows:

  • Selling Price: ₹1,999
  • Cost Price: ₹1,111
  • Profit Before Shipping: ₹888

After adding shipping charges (₹180) and other deductions (₹30), I’m left with a net profit of ₹678. Make sure you conduct these calculations for your products to understand your earning potential.

Creating an Engaging Ad

The next task was to create an ad for the product. I sourced a promotional video without any watermarks and added a voice-over to enhance the ad's effectiveness. Voice-overs significantly increase engagement, so if you aren’t comfortable doing it yourself, consider asking a friend or family member for help.

When creating your ad, avoid copying others outright. Instead, take inspiration but be sure to shuffle elements within the video, adjust pacing, and modify the background music. Original content boosts credibility and helps your business stand out.

Running the Ad and Analyzing Results

Once my ad was ready, I ran it across selected platforms. My advertising efforts had a cost of ₹1,078. I received five orders in total—three through the website and one via WhatsApp.

An important aspect of managing a dropshipping business is tracking expenses and profits accurately. Based on the sales generated:

  1. Total Sales Value = ₹5,390 (from five orders)
  2. Total Ad Spending = ₹1,078.
  3. Profit after Ad Costs = ₹5,390 - ₹1,078 = ₹4,312.

I emphasized clarity throughout each step, demonstrating how swiftly a dropshipping business can operate within just 24 hours.
