Introduction

Hope everybody is well! What a week of horse racing! Glorious Goodwood 2024 is upon us, and we've also got Goway thrown in there as well. What a time to be a racing fan. This week is always a brilliant time of the year, transitioning from late July into early August, and there's lots going on. Of course, alongside the racing, the Olympics are in full swing. But we are here to look at the horses: 5 days of incredible action at Goodwood. Additionally, as I mentioned before, we’ll also have some great action at Goway. We’ll see if we can find any selections for Goway later in the week.

Right now, I've got a few selections for Goodwood for the opening day on Tuesday.

Quick Update on Results and Content

Hi everyone, very quickly before we move on to the selections, I just want to mention that I now put results in the description of each video. I'll pin them in the comments on the night and also update the community tab with a bit of explanation on what happened in the races. Just thought it was quite an interesting point. Right, let's get into the video and move on to the actual selections for Goodwood on Tuesday.

Goodwood 2:25 - World Pool Vintage Stakes

Our first selection for Tuesday is in the wide-open race for two-year-olds over seven furlongs – the World Pool Vintage Stakes. This really interesting race is wide open, and we’re going for a horse at the other end of the market: Tiger Mask, at 20 to 1. This horse has shown really nice progression, with a really nice win last time out in a class two race. Of course, this is a much harder race and a much bigger step up, but the horse ran really well that day. He seems to have gotten better each time he has run, and the step up to seven furlongs last time out seems to have suited him. Tiger Mask, a lovely gray colt, appears poised to outrun that price with some money already placed on him this week. We will see if he can fire in the 2:25 on Tuesday. Goodwood 3:00 - The Lenx Stakes

Next, we move to the Goodwood 3:00 for another wide-open race: the Lenx Stakes. This high-quality seven-furlong race has eight runners, with Kinross heading the market at around 3 to 1. We’re going for a different approach, though, with Art Power, priced at 25 to 1. Although usually seen running over six furlongs, he ran pretty well last time out at New Market, finishing fourth in a decent race. This horse is very capable on his day, having won a nice race at Ascot last year. Trainer Easterby might feel that Art Power just needs that extra furlong now as he ages. Although this one is a bit of a punt at 25 to 1, he has the ability to cause an upset and outrun those odds.

Goodwood 4:10 - Coral Racing Club Handicap

Our final selection for Tuesday is one I really like: the 10 past 4 race, a big handicap with 13 runners over five furlongs. This race will be incredibly fast. Fair Wind heads the field at around 3 to 1, with Lord Riddiford also catching interest at 6 to 1. JM Jungle, priced at 12 to 1, is the one I'm backing. He had a really nice win at the Goodwood Festival last year, and although this race is of a much higher caliber, JM Jungle has shown good performance in similar races. With some extra places available for this race, JM Jungle's chances of hitting the frame seem very promising.

I haven’t found anything for Goway so far that really catches my attention, but I will be taking a look later in the week and will add it to videos later.
