7 Day Shopify Dropshipping Challenge With $100

Introduction

Starting a dropshipping business can seem daunting, especially with a limited budget. However, it is entirely possible to establish a thriving Shopify store using just $ 100 and strategic planning. Over the past three years, I’ve earned over $ 2.5 million dropshipping, and I’m ready to take on the challenge of starting anew with only $ 100. This article outlines a step-by-step guide on building a store, sourcing winning products, and running ads on a tight budget. The ultimate goal is to reach $ 1,000 in profit by the week’s end.

Day 1: Setting Up the Store

With our budget set at $ 100, we kick off this challenge by creating our online store. Thankfully, I have access to a free AI store builder. By clicking “build my free store” and entering the necessary information, we can begin the setup process. I selected a niche tentatively since we haven’t yet picked a product.

Next, we take advantage of a 3-day free trial from Shopify, with plans set at $ 1. For our first expenditure, we choose to upgrade to the advanced plan for the lowest transaction fees, ensuring we cancel it before the next billing cycle. Our new remaining budget for this challenge now stands at $ 99.

Finding Winning Products

Our next step is to source a winning product, and I’ve got a product research strategy that incurs no cost. We open the TikTok app and navigate to the TikTok Shop section. Unique hoodies with inspirational messages often do well on these platforms.

After scrolling, I found several products with substantial sales numbers. For instance, the "Jesus Saves" t-shirt sold 9,600 units, indicating a strong market demand. We also confirm that the product is available on AliExpress to ensure we can sell it and that its cost of goods is reasonable. We proceeded with importing the selected product into our Shopify store using the AutoDS app—a service that also offers a free 30-day trial.

Pimping Out the Store

With the product now imported, our store required some customization. I adjusted product titles, pricing, shipping options, and added descriptive paragraphs to engage potential buyers. Importantly, we utilized a free app to include product reviews, enhancing credibility.

Now, we’re close to running our ads, and it’s time to allocate some budget to TikTok advertising. We create a campaign for the “Jesus Saves” t-shirt, setting a budget of $ 50 per day. Given the efficacy of TikTok for ad placements, we scheduled these ads to go live for optimal viewer engagement.

Analyzing Performance

Two days later, metrics indicated promising results. On Day 1, our store generated $ 112 in revenue from three orders, while Day 2 saw five additional orders for $ 164. We monitored our ads closely, disabling the underperforming ones and scaling the budget as profits rose.

Over the following week, we continued to scale our ad budget in accordance with performance data. Each day provided valuable insights into sales, profits, and our cost per purchase metrics. By the end of the Week, our total profit amounted to $ 572—a significant feat considering we started with just $ 100.

Conclusion

This dropshipping challenge exemplifies how anyone can create a business, even with minimal funds. Methodical product research, strategic advertising, and consistent monitoring can lead to substantial profits in a relatively short timeframe.
