WEEK IN MY LIFE ? In my winter arc!! Data analyst promotion updates, cooking class, productive week
Introduction
Welcome back to my channel! This week, I'm excited to take you through a work week in my life as a data analyst. With the cold winter months upon us, things are just a little bit quieter; it always feels like an ideal time to reflect and refocus. Join me as I navigate through a productive week filled with work, fitness, meal prep, and a very special occasion—my fiancé Will’s birthday!
Monday: New Year, New Goals
As the week kicked off, I felt motivated to dive right into work. The first full week of January always feels like a fresh start, and I took advantage of that by setting some ambitious goals for the month. My plan includes daily health challenges that I hope will transform into lasting habits throughout the year.
I work from home as a data analyst, and after getting some initial tasks done, it was time to take a short break for lunch. Despite the pouring rain outside, which deterred me from my morning yoga class, I managed to reschedule it for later that day. Then it was time to make dinner—a comforting chicken pot pie soup, perfect for a cozy winter evening.
Tuesday: Will’s Birthday Preparations
With Will's birthday on the horizon, I started prepping for a little surprise. Inspired by his nostalgic favorite, dirt pudding, I instacarted the ingredients to prepare it. He always loved the sweet dessert made of vanilla pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms, so I couldn’t wait to pull it all together without him finding out.
After a solid workday and a productive yoga session, I tackled the preparation for the dirt pudding and watched the clock tick closer to the celebration. I also made sure to stick to my goal of meal planning better, not just relying on leftovers but actually cooking meals that we could enjoy throughout the week.
Wednesday: Cooking Class Surprise
A highlight of the week was definitely the cooking class I booked for Will's birthday. I wanted it to be a surprise, so I told him we had a dinner reservation but didn’t divulge too much. The class took place at a well-known kitchen store that specializes in cooking classes—a spot we had been wanting to try for ages.
We enjoyed making delicious dishes while learning new skills, and at the end of the session, we were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor. It was a memorable evening, and Will genuinely had no idea it was coming.
Thursday: Sourdough and Reflection
Wednesday night flew by, and it was time to get back to work. I started my day with a homemade sourdough loaf—my third attempt, aiming to perfect the recipe. It turned out well, and I was pleased with the results.
This week, I also received news about my promotion at work. In this first week back, I had new responsibilities that I was eager to embrace. I’ve enjoyed taking on a more substantial role as a more senior data analyst, which includes helping onboard new team members and engaging more in business analytics.
Friday: Snow Day Excitement
On Friday, a snow day was predicted, which added an exhilarating twist to my week. I planned to stick to my workout routine, but both Will and I decided to opt for a cozy night in instead with the impending snow.
After finishing work, I settled down to enjoy a quiet evening, read a few chapters of my current book, and prepared to visit the gym over the weekend when the snow settled down.
Wrap-Up
This week was all about embracing routine while also allowing for small surprises and indulgences. From work challenges to personal ones, I felt focused and productive, turning ambitions into actions.
