Introduction
We are beyond excited to embark on our 7-Day adventure aboard the Virgin Voyage cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, sailing through the stunning Mediterranean! After arriving at our cabin, unpacking, and refreshing ourselves, my travel buddy Amando and I are all set for a week filled with exploration and relaxation.
Our journey kicks off with a stop in Toulon, France, followed by a visit to Italy, where we’ll drop anchor in places like Marina di Carrara and Cagliari. Our much-anticipated overnight stay in Ibiza, famed for its nightlife, is just around the corner, offering a perfect blend of party vibes and serene settings. With heaps of dining options and entertainment right on board, the Scarlet Lady promises to keep us engaged.
As we set sail, we explore the cruise ship, which seems to overflow with exciting amenities. From gourmet dining options to a vibrant galley stocked with snacks, the onboard atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with adventure. Our balcony offers a perfect view of the rolling waves, enhancing our experience.
It's our first evening, and while we’re drawn to relaxing in our cabin, we're also eager to explore the various dining options on the ship. The galley provides an array of casual meals, including pizza, which we opt for to kick off our culinary journey.
Day 1: Toulon, France
Today marks our arrival in Toulon after a delightful all-inclusive breakfast at sea, where vegan options are plentiful! Although we're familiar with the French Riviera, this location has its own unique charm that Amando and I appreciate fondly, especially as it reminds us of one of our first dates in Nice.
After a day of exploring and soaking up the sun, we freshen up for dinner. With evening options abound, we attempt to walk into a few premier restaurants, testing our luck, before eventually settling in for a meal at the galley once more.
Day 2: Italy’s Coast
The next morning, we make our way to Italy, delighting in the day’s adventures. We take advantage of the cruise’s organized transportation to various exciting locations, including the famed Leaning Tower of Pisa. Although the heat climbs to a scorching 35°C, the picturesque scenery makes it worth enduring.
Dressed in coordination for the evening, Amando and I venture out to a restaurant called Pink Agave. The ambience and dinner offer a fantastic gastronomical experience!
Day 3: Rome
Early the next day, we take a train into Rome, preparing to explore the ancient city. As the temperatures soar to 36°C, we navigate through sights like the Vatican and indulge in mouthwatering pizza at a small eatery outside a less crowded fountain.
Following a busy day, we find ourselves at the cruise, relaxing on the deck before enjoying yet another dining experience at the ship's second signature restaurant, Dazzle.
Day 4: Day at Sea
After an action-packed couple of days, we relish a more restful day at sea. While the weather fluctuates between sun and gloomy clouds, Amando works in the cabin while I take advantage of sunbathing. The highlight is venturing through a sudden storm, followed by more sun as we approach our next destination.
Day 5: Arrival in Ibiza
As we prepare for our arrival in Ibiza, we anticipate our first evening on this iconic island! Decked out for the nightlife, we find our way to the Test Kitchen restaurant for a unique dining experience. The evening buzzes with excitement in the streets of Ibiza.
Day 6: Beach Day in Ibiza
Aiming for total relaxation, we spend the day on the beach, but not before stopping at a vibrant café for refreshing vegan power balls. The serene beach soaking in the sun brings a perfect ending to our trip.
Final Evening: Farewell Dinner
On our last evening aboard the Scarlet Lady, we prepare for dinner at the Dazzle restaurant once more while reflecting on the wonderful moments shared during our cruise. We conclude our vacation with a delightful dessert of ice cream.
As we prepare to return home, traveling back together for the first time after many months apart fills us with joy. Beautiful memories and experiences from the Mediterranean linger in our hearts, wrapping up a remarkable adventure aboard the Virgin Voyage cruise.
