Trying to Go Viral in One Week

Trying to Go Viral in One Week

I had just 7 days to go viral on TikTok because somebody said it was easy. My strategy for achieving this ambitious goal focused on creating filters, as that’s what I’m skilled at. Sometimes these filters do phenomenally well on the first day of posting. Below, I describe each day's effort in detail.

Day 1: Recreated Flappy Bird

I kicked off the challenge by recreating Flappy Bird and posting a video of myself playing it. Despite the accuracy of the recreation, the video only achieved a 4-second watch time, which was quite disappointing.

Day 2: Friday Night Funkin’ Template

For the second day, I used my Friday Night Funkin’ template and posted a filter where a baby was rapping.

Day 3: Tidle Wave

On the third day, I introduced a new filter called Tidle Wave on TikTok.

Day 4: Gamble Core Game

Given my love for the original video, I decided to create and post a gamble core game on the fourth day.

Day 5: Frame Perfect Timings

By the fifth day, I ran out of creative ideas, so I put together a filter focusing on frame-perfect timings.

Day 6: Souls RNG with Emojis

For the sixth day, I created a Souls RNG filter but added Emojis to make it more unique.

Day 7: Dodge the Rain Game

Finally, on the seventh day, I developed a game where users had to dodge falling rain.

Despite all these efforts, I gained only 605 followers. I’m left unsure if this should be considered a success or not. The only filters that performed well were the gamble core and baby rapping filters.
