How I Went VIRAL On Tiktok By Only Posting Edits (again)
Introduction
Six months ago, I achieved TikTok fame, going viral within a mere 14 days, and for many, that success might seem like a fluke. However, I'm determined to prove my skills once again. With the experience I've gained and the lessons learned since my last viral moment, I’m ready for a new challenge: going viral again within 14 days by only posting edits.
To kick off my plan, I recognized two significant areas needing improvement: the quality of my edits and my engagement with current trends. Inspired by my previous success, I crafted a strategy that revolves around thematic daily edits, which I believe will maximize my chances. For instance, I decided to dedicate Day One to unexpected edits, while Day Six would focus on remaking viral edits, among other creative themes for the remaining days. Additionally, I'll be producing three edits per day, totaling 42 edits by the end of my challenge.
Day One: Unexpected Edits
I scrolled through TikTok for inspiration and created three unexpected edits. After hours of hard work, I finally posted them with trending sounds. Despite a few mistakes I made, I went to bed eager to see how my creations would perform overnight. The results were encouraging: one of my edits amassed nearly 2,000 views.
Day Two: "Put It In Raw" Edits
With motivation high, I moved on to Day Two, creating three "put it in raw" or jump scare edits. By focusing on badass characters like Kila, Iron Man, and Pyo, I aimed for more engaging results. By day’s end, I was proud of my work, despite the view counts falling short of expectations with only 750 and 650 views.
Day Three: Normal Edits
Day Three allowed me to experiment with normal edits. To my surprise, it became apparent that my evening posts garnered more views, leading to a pivotal realization about posting times. I decided to focus exclusively on evening uploads going forward.
Day Four: Thirst Trap Edits
With renewed hope, the theme for Day Four was thirst trap edits, featuring characters like Kakashi and Momo. While the edits turned out well, I wasn't satisfied, as none of them performed as I had hoped.
Day Five: Intro Edits
Day Five consisted of intro edits, which unfortunately performed below my expectations, much like the previous day's efforts.
Days Six to Twelve: Various Themes & Continued Flops
The following days, including Christmas and the release of popular series like "Blue Lock," yielded disappointing results—most edits bombed. I felt stuck in a “200 view jail," and my motivation steadily dwindled.
The Break and Final Hope
On the verge of abandoning the challenge, an opportunity arose with the release of "Solo Leveling." I decided to capitalize by creating edits as soon as the new episodes were available. My excitement peaked, but the results fell flat.
Day 14: The Last Hope
On the final day, I poured my energy into one final edit. Unfortunately, it did not go viral either, marking another unsuccessful attempt. In total, I posted 37 edits and garnered 43,800 views, with my best-performing clip hitting 16.3k views.
Despite the disappointment, I remain hopeful, believing that I can go viral in my next attempt. As they say, it's all about the best of three—and I'm ready to come back stronger.
