Introduction
Introduction
Hi guys, welcome back to my channel! My name is Jade. I create content to help you grow your online presence, multiply your streams of income, and create profitable businesses. Today, I'm filming my first-ever TikTok solo video. This video is dedicated to TikTok newbies who are trying to grow on the platform.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I prefer talking about things I fully understand. So, if you're wondering why it took me so long to make a video about TikTok, it's because I've been immersing myself in the platform, trying out different strategies, and doing a lot of research to ensure I can give you some real tips that will help you.
This video is for anyone who is new to TikTok or still in the early stages of their TikTok journey and trying to hit their first 10K followers, which I just did. If that’s you, this video will be of interest, and you should probably subscribe to my channel as well since this is the kind of content I release weekly.
Immersion in the Platform
The first tip I want to give TikTok newbies is to immerse yourself in the platform. There are a few things to note:
- Create Content: The more content you create, the easier it becomes.
- Engage with the Community: Follow other creators in your niche. While some people find it triggering to follow their competitors, if you can handle it, it will provide you with insights into what your audience might respond well to.
When you follow and watch others in your community, it doesn't mean you should copy them. Instead, this practice will give you inspiration and help you come up with your own ideas. When you understand the type of content that is appreciated, creating it becomes a breeze.
Post Frequently
Another essential thing to do is to start posting a lot. Be prepared for this: the optimal posting frequency on TikTok, especially when you're trying to grow, is between three to five posts per day.
My Experience
I started by posting three times a day in January. Sometimes I posted once a day, and there were times I didn't post at all during holidays. However, I noticed that whenever I posted more frequently, I grew significantly faster.
While on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, posting more may help but it isn't always this straightforward. On TikTok, growth is noticeably more rapid with higher posting frequency, given the quality of the content remains high.
Shelf Life
TikTok content has a longer shelf life compared to Instagram but not as long as YouTube. Even if you take breaks, you could still grow. The algorithm might take a bit to warm up, but older posts can still get views and contribute to your growth.
Be Authentic
Being yourself is crucial on TikTok. Users can quickly tell if a creator genuinely enjoys making content. Lean into your own personality, quirks, and what makes you unique.
Why Authenticity Matters
TikTok uniquely values creators' personalities alongside the value they offer. Whether it's comedic, educational, or entertaining, your personality must shine through for people to connect with you and your content.
Tactical Tips
Here are my three favorite tactics:
Hashtags
Use hashtags to help TikTok understand what your content is about. Focus on three to five specific and relevant hashtags rather than overloading it with irrelevant ones.
Trending Sounds and Audio
Using trending audio can significantly boost your visibility. TikTok rewards content using trending sounds by pushing it onto the For You Page where it can reach a wider audience.
Short Videos with Text
Create short videos (4-7 seconds) with interesting text. This can increase the chances of people rewatching your video, boosting visibility.
Have Fun
TikTok is still a new platform, so make sure to enjoy the process. Experiment and don't get bogged down by too many strategies. Enjoy the journey and the platform's social, fun nature.
Conclusion
I hope these tips helped you as someone who might be new to the platform or trying to grow. Let me know if there’s something specific you’d like me to delve deeper into. Thanks for watching and see you in my next video!
