Tiktok Pixel Set Up in 2024 | WordPress Tutorial

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome back to my YouTube channel. In today's video, I want to show you how to create and install a TikTok pixel on your website. This tutorial is specifically for WordPress users, especially those running an e-commerce business using WooCommerce. However, if you're using Shopify, don't worry – I'll create a separate video for that.

Step 1: Access TikTok Ad Manager

The first thing you need to do is to go to your TikTok Ad Manager. TikTok Ad Manager functions similarly to Facebook Ad Manager. Once you're in TikTok Ad Manager, you'll see options like Campaigns, Tools, and Analytics.

To create a TikTok pixel, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Tools section.
  2. Click on Event under the Tools menu.
  3. Choose Web Event for events that happen on your website.
  4. Click on Manage and then select Create Pixel.

Step 2: Create Your Pixel

When creating your pixel, you will have two setup options: Manual Setup and Partner Setup. For this tutorial, we will select Manual Setup:

  1. Click on Manual Setup and then click Next.
  2. Give your pixel a name (e.g., "forever") and click Next.

At this stage, your pixel is created. You'll need to skip the steps for creating events and funnels for now. Select Skip Step.

Step 3: Retrieve Your Pixel Code

You will now see options for Event API Custom Code and Event Builder. Choose these two and click Next:

  1. Under Custom Code, click on View Instructions to access your pixel code.
  2. Follow the instructions to paste the code in the header section of your website.

Step 4: Install the Code on Your WordPress Site

To install the pixel code on your WordPress website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the backend of your WordPress website.
  2. Scroll down to Plugins and click on Add New.
  3. Search for HFCM (Header Footer Code Manager) by 99 Robots.
  4. Click Install and then Activate.

After activating the plugin, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Installed Plugins and find Header Footer Code Manager.
  2. Click on Settings and then Add New.
  3. Provide a name for your snippet (e.g., "TikTok Pixel").
  4. Set the Snippet Type to HTML.
  5. Ensure the Site Display is set to Sitewide so the pixel code appears on all pages.
  6. Set the Location to Header.
  7. Copy your pixel code from TikTok Ad Manager and paste it into the plugin.
  8. Click Save.

Step 5: Verify Your Pixel Installation

To verify if the pixel is working:

  1. Download and install the TikTok Pixel Helper Chrome extension.
  2. Visit your website.
  3. Open the TikTok Pixel Helper extension to verify if it detects your pixel. It should indicate that one TikTok pixel was found.

And that's it! You've successfully installed the TikTok pixel on your WordPress website.
