Pocket Pixel/ Pocket Isekai & Pokemon Build Guide Part 1: Union's Cave: Blissey, Machamp, Medicham
Introduction
Welcome to the first part of the guide on building a strong Pokémon team in Pocket Pixel/Pocket Isekai. This article will focus on the optimal setups for Blissey, Machamp, and Medicham, which you can find in the Union's Cave area, an excellent resource for new trainers.
1. Recommended Pokémon to Catch
Butterfree
The first Pokémon I recommend catching is Butterfree. Although its star upgrade can be costly in terms of gold, it's a powerful addition to your team. For a detailed guide on building Butterfree, please check my previous videos.
Blissey
Next, we venture into the Union's Cave area where several strong Pokémon reside. One standout Pokémon here is Blissey, known for its exceptional tank capabilities. However, being a legendary Pokémon, it can be quite rare to encounter.
Building Blissey
- EV Distribution: Allocate 100 to 200 EV points to Defense (DF) to enhance its physical robustness, while distributing the rest into Special Defense (SDF) to minimize damage from Special Attack (SATK) based moves.
- Ability: Use Natural Cure, which allows Blissey to recover from debilitating effects like poison, sleep, freeze, and burn upon switching out.
- Move Set:
- Light Screen: Creates a defensive barrier, making it easier to switch Pokémon with minimized damage.
- Softboiled: A healing move that allows Blissey to restore its own health.
- Minimize: Increases evasion, making it harder for enemies to land hits.
- Copycat: Mimics the last move used by the opponent.
Blissey is most effective when paired with Pokémon that can inflict status conditions like poison or utilize moves like Leech Seed to gradually weaken opponents.
Giraffe
Following Blissey, Giraffe proves to be a valuable support Pokémon that excels at buffing allies. Once evolved into Firé GFF, it significantly boosts its HP, aiding it in performing support duties.
Building Giraffe
- EV Distribution: Maximize HP and, if possible, allocate extra EV points to DF and SDF for enhanced survivability.
- Ability: Early Bird ensures Giraffe won't be asleep for more than two turns.
- Move Set:
- Nasty Plot: Boosts Special Attack.
- Agility: Increases speed.
- Psychic: Deals damage to opponents.
- Baton Pass: Transfers buffs to the next Pokémon.
Machamp
Next up is Machamp, known for its high physical Attack (ATK) stat of 130. However, its low speed of 55 means it will need support from teammates to function effectively.
Building Machamp
- EV Distribution: Max out ATK to bolster its offensive potential.
- Ability: Guts boosts ATK by 50% when affected by statuses like burn or paralysis. Equip a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb to ensure this boost while avoiding sleep.
- Move Set:
- Knock Off: Deals bonus damage if the opponent holds an item, while also removing that item.
- Dual Chop: Attacks twice in one turn, increasing chances for critical hits.
- Bulk Up: Raises both ATK and DF.
- Cross Chop: A powerful move with a high critical hit ratio.
Medicham
Lastly, Medicham is a formidable yet low appearance rate Pokémon.
Building Medicham
- Mega Evolution: Essential for boosting its attack capabilities.
- EV Distribution: Max out ATK, with any leftover points going into Speed.
- Nature: Adamant for further ATK enhancements.
- Move Set:
- Recover: For healing during battles.
- Acupressure: Randomly boosts one stat by two stages.
- High Jump Kick: A strong STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) move with 130 power.
- Zen Headbutt: A Psychic-type move for battling Ghost-types.
Conclusion
With these Pokémon, you'll establish a fierce team that can handle many challenges ahead. Feel free to revisit my channel for more detailed videos on previous setups, including Furet and KN toow, which were also discussed earlier.
