Making the BEST of a BAD SITUATION

Introduction

In the face of adversity, it's important to stay proactive and find ways to make the best of a challenging situation. As a deli owner grappling with a temporary closure, I'm determined to keep my passion for sandwiches alive despite the kitchen line being out of commission. My slicing equipment is ready to go, and I refuse to let delicious ingredients go to waste.

I have an array of meats on hand—ham, honey ham, turkey, roast beef, and barbecue chicken. Accompanying these are fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and an assortment of cheeses. Thankfully, I'm aware of the recent nationwide deli meat recall, but rest assured, none of my products were included in that list. I've personally sampled everything and have experienced no adverse symptoms whatsoever.

While the quality of my output may not be the gourmet standard I strive for at Gats Deli, I’ve decided to channel my inner lunch lady and keep moving forward. However, there's an additional hiccup: Ziploc bags. The size I have on hand is simply not functioning properly. It seems to be a classic example of shrinkflation, as I can't even close the bags properly!

Despite these obstacles, I've managed to put together and package 83 sandwiches ready for distribution. Tomorrow, I'll load up cooler bags, adding some chips and water I picked up as well. Knowing that there are areas in the city that could really benefit from a decent meal motivates me to push through these challenges. If you know of additional locations or individuals who would appreciate a hearty lunch, please share your suggestions in the comments below.
