I Tried Shopify Dropshipping For 24H (Realistic Results)

In today’s article, I’m bringing you along on a 24-hour dropshipping challenge where I aimed to find a product, set up a store, create ads, and run them to see how profitable I could be within that timeframe. Finding a Product
The first step was to find a compelling product to sell. To do this efficiently, I utilized AutoDS, a comprehensive dropshipping tool that offers everything from product research to order fulfillment. A key feature was their AdSpy tool, which allows users to view active ads on platforms like Facebook and TikTok.
I filtered the ads to focus on the United States and recent activity, and after spending about 20 minutes scrolling, I discovered an interesting product—a Name Stamp. This product appeals to parents needing to label their children’s school supplies, making it a potentially lucrative choice.
- Competitors were selling this product for $ 24.99.
- The product source from AliExpress was approximately $ 6 total (including shipping) with over 4,000 sales and a solid 4.8-star rating.
This product seemed promising, so I decided to move forward with it.
Setting Up the Store
Next, I utilized my free AI tool for store development, which can create a Shopify store in under 5 minutes. Following the prompts, I quickly set up a basic store layout. The homepage looked clean but needed tweaks like a logo and color adjustments.
Upon finalizing the store design, I ordered ads through Launch Ads for TikTok. They offered a split-testing package, allowing me to test one ad with three variants for improved performance metrics.
Crafting the Product Page
To create an attractive product page, I used Page Pilot, an AI-based store builder recognized for its capability to generate high-quality product descriptions quickly. Within seconds, the tool produced a stunning product page that far exceeded anything I could have manually created.
The product page included:
- A sticky add-to-cart bar
- Compelling product descriptions
- Reviews and guarantees, which typically enhance customer trust.
Launching the Ads
Once my product page was complete, I dove into the TikTok Ads Manager to launch my campaign. I set specific parameters such as audience targeting, daily budget, and ad scheduling to maximize outreach during optimal hours.
Ad Campaign Details:
- Total Ad Spend: $ 602
- CPC: $ 0.86
- Impressions: 4,528
- Clicks: 70
- Sales Tracked by TikTok: 1 sale
Analyzing the Results
After letting the ads run for 24 hours, I generated a total revenue of $ 49.90 with two sales.

- Cost to fulfill orders: $ 13.63
- Payment processing fees: $ 255
Ultimately, my 24-hour challenge resulted in a loss of $ 265. While I did get an initial taste of sales, I did not achieve profitability.
Conclusion
This challenge showcases the unpredictability of dropshipping. It’s common to face losses initially due to several factors, including market saturation and ad performance. Although I failed to be profitable this time, I hope you learned something useful from my experience.
