I lost out on $2,000 | Joining Tiktok creator marketplace Nishcooks

Today is October 12th, and I'm excited to share my journey applying for the TikTok Creator Fund. Initially, I wasn't entirely sure what the fund entailed, other than the fact that it allows creators to earn money based on their views, similar to YouTube. However, I realized that earnings per view on TikTok are considerably lower because TikTok videos are short—usually just a few seconds long—whereas YouTube videos can be much longer and therefore potentially more lucrative.

So, I went ahead and applied for the TikTok Creator Fund and submitted my request. Fast forward to three days later, and I received some exciting news! I’m now officially part of the Creator Fund and have already made around $ 100 from my cooking videos in just four days. It’s amazing how quickly you can see results from this platform.

While going through this experience, I also reflected on how much I might have missed out on due to not joining earlier. After doing some research, I found varying estimates on how much creators earn per view—some sources suggested anywhere from 2 to 12 cents per thousand views. Not being sure which figures to trust, I decided to keep my estimations conservative at around 5 cents per thousand views.

For instance, last month I gained approximately 8.85 million views on my videos. When I break that down, it equates to 8,850 thousands of views. If I multiply that by 5 cents, it turns out that I missed out on about $ 422. Extending this scenario over the past four months, that amounts to a staggering potential loss of $ 2,000—definitely not pocket change!

As I continue on this journey, I plan to provide you with updates every 28 days. My earnings will give you an idea of how TikTok’s monetization works in real-time based on analytics. For now, on my first day of joining the Creator Fund, I earned $ 16, which is a promising start for my cooking-related content.
