Step-by-Step Guide to Create TikTok Pixel
Log in to Your TikTok Dashboard
Start by logging into your TikTok Ads dashboard. Once you’re inside the dashboard, you’ll notice several options at the top such as Dashboard, Campaign, Tools, and Analytics.Navigate to the Tools Section
Click on the Tools option and then select Management. Inside Management, you'll find the Events option. Click on it.Connect Data Source
Upon entering the Events section, locate the Connect Data Source button on the top left side, highlighted in green. Click on it.Select Web as Data Source
A new page will open. Since we are adding the pixel for a website, click on the Web option.Paste Your Website URL
You’ll need to paste the URL of your website in the provided space. For example, if you are using "https://mysite.com", go ahead and paste that here.Manual Setup
Opt for the manual setup and proceed to the next step.Name Your Pixel
Here, you will be prompted to give your pixel a name. For instance, I named mine “Bead By Pixels”. However, you can choose any name that suits you.Copy the Base Code
After naming your pixel, you will see the base code. Copy this code—it’s vital for the following steps.Incorporate the Pixel Code into Your Website
Go to the dashboard of your website. You will likely see a sidebar. Find the option for Online Store. If it's not visible, click on Sales Channel and then add Online Store.Edit Theme Code
Once in the Online Store, scroll down and click on Customize, then find the three-dot menu where you can select Edit Code.Locate Theme.Liquid
Look for Theme.Liquid on the left panel and click on it. Within this file, locate the<head>
section, then press enter twice below it and paste the TikTok Pixel code.Save Changes
After pasting the code, make sure to save your changes.Automatic Advanced Matching
On the next page, enable Automatic Advanced Matching and click on Launch Event Builder to create your events.Setting Up Events
Choose to create the events essential for your campaigns. Common events include Complete Payment and Place Order. When prompted, be sure to write /thankyou at the end of the URL paths for these events.Finish Setup
After confirming the setup, exit that page. You’ve now created your pixels.Create a Campaign
To check if everything is functioning correctly, go back to the dashboard and create a campaign. By clicking the green box on the right side, select the option for website conversion.Inspect Pixel Status
Proceed to the data connection section where the pixel you created will appear, confirming that your setup was successful.Conclusion
