But don't worry; by following this guide, you'll be able to set up your TikTok ad account effectively from Nigeria or any other restricted country.

Step 1: Set Up a VPN

The first step in creating a TikTok ad account is to set up a VPN on your system. We recommend using ExpressVPN, as it has proven to be reliable and efficient. You can find a link to ExpressVPN in the description of this video. Create an account with ExpressVPN and use it to mask your location while creating your TikTok ad account.

Step 2: Open TikTok for Business

Once you have set up your VPN, go to the link in the video description for TikTok for Business. This will direct you to the TikTok for Business page, where you can create your ad account.

Step 3: Create Your Ad Account

  1. Click on "Get Started."
  2. Choose your industry (e.g., e-commerce).
  3. Enter your business name and a US mobile phone number. If you don’t have one, you can get a virtual number.
  4. Tick the box agreeing to TikTok’s commercial terms of service.
  5. Click on "Get Started" to proceed.

You can choose between two modes: Basic and Advanced. If you are new to TikTok ads, we recommend starting with the Basic mode. Here you can select your ad objectives, such as Reach, Traffic, Video Views, Community Interaction, App Promotion, Lead Generation, Website Conversion, and Product Sales.

Step 6: Add Payment Method

  1. Go to your dashboard.
  2. Click on "Add Balance" to set up your payment method.
  3. Choose between Credit/Debit Card, PayPal, or Venmo.
  4. Submit your payment details.

Step 7: Set Up Business Center

  1. Click on "Business Center" from the dashboard.
  2. Select "I'm an Advertiser" and add your country as the United States.
  3. Fill in your Company Name, Industry, Time Zone, and Currency.
  4. Choose between Automatic Payment and Manual Payment.
  5. Enter your billing address, contact name, contact email, and US phone number.
  6. Click "Submit."

Congratulations! You have successfully created a TikTok ad account even though you are not in the US or UK. This setup will allow you to manage your TikTok ads, set up billing info, and create your first ad.
