EASILY Create a TikTok ADS Pixel

EASILY Create a TikTok ADS Pixel

Introduction

Hello everyone, it's Seb here from Wolfview. In today’s guide, I’ll be walking you through everything you need to know to create TikTok Pixels, allowing you to start tracking conversions effortlessly.

Step 1: Install the TikTok Pixel Helper

First, download and install the TikTok Pixel Helper on Google Chrome. This tool helps you determine if your pixels are active on the designated pages. It’s a handy utility to ensure everything runs smoothly. Though you will be able to install this through the TikTok Ads Manager, I recommend installing it beforehand to avoid potential issues. You can find the download link in the description of the video.

Step 2: Accessing the TikTok Ads Manager

Go to ads.tiktok.com and navigate to the Assets section, then click Events. Here, you’ll choose between App Events and Web Events. Since most users are looking to add pixels to their websites, click on Web Events and then Manage.

Step 3: Creating a Pixel

You will see an option to Create Pixel if you haven’t created any pixels yet. Click on it and give your pixel a name relevant to its purpose, such as the target page or campaign.

Step 4: Choosing Installation Method

Select TikTok Pixel, then choose either Manual Install Pixel Code or Automatically Set Up Web Events via Partner Platforms. The automatic setup is preferred for supported platforms as it ensures a smooth installation. However, for this guide, we’ll proceed with the Manual Install.

Step 5: Copying Pixel Code

You will then be prompted to copy the pixel code. Add this code to the header section of all relevant web pages, such as your capture page and thank you page. Use your website builder to insert this code under the Tracking Code or Header section.

Step 6: Verifying Pixel Installation

Refresh your web pages and check the TikTok Pixel Helper to confirm pixel activation. If you see the pixel, the installation was successful.

Step 7: Configuring Your Pixel

Enable Automatic Advanced Matching for better data syncing and press Next. Set up the configuration by selecting URL Events. For example, set the first path for your opt-in page. Use View Content as the event type, set value to zero if it’s a free lead magnet, and select Once for static type to avoid redundant tracking.

Step 8: Event Tracking for Thank You Page

Similarly, configure your thank you page by setting the URL path and selecting Complete Registration as the event type. Finalize the setup by clicking Complete Setup.

Step 9: Testing Your Pixel

If you want to test your pixel, use the Test Events option. Enter the URL of your initial page, generate a QR code, and scan it with your phone. This process helps you verify the pixel activity on the page.

Conclusion

That’s it! You now have a TikTok pixel set up to manually track conversions. If you found this guide helpful, please hit the like button and subscribe to our channel for more tips.
