College Football Best Bets, Picks & Analysis WEEK 3 | 9/13/24 | Friday & Saturday CFB Picks

Introduction

Hey guys, K Crusty K's here! It's week three of the college football season, and I'm excited to dive into some key matchups. Today, we'll focus on two Friday games before jumping into the Saturday slate. Let's not waste any more time!

Friday Games

UNLV vs. Kansas

The first game to discuss is UNLV taking on Kansas. Kansas is coming off a loss to U of I, and while many are looking to back them, I’ll be taking UNLV +7.5. This UNLV team is legitimate, and their quarterback, Sluka, is a dynamic dual threat. While he may not throw for 300 yards, his ability to run complicates matters for defenses.

UNLV's defense has been better than expected, and while Kansas poses challenges, I believe they’ll struggle to contain Sluka. The game’s location also factors into my wager—Kansas is playing at a smaller soccer stadium instead of their typical setting, which alters the home-field advantage. Keep this in mind if you’re wagering on Kansas.

For player props, I like Sluka’s Anytime Touchdown at +138, as he’s a genuine threat on the ground.

Arizona vs. Kansas State

This is a significant matchup—#20 Arizona will visit #14 Kansas State. I’m leaning towards the over 58.5, and I’d take it up to 60. Arizona's offense is dynamic, and they’re coming off a lackluster performance against Northern Arizona, but I believe they didn’t take that game seriously. Kansas State's defense has already shown weaknesses, especially against Tulane.

Both offenses have significant advantages over the opposing defenses, and I expect a high-scoring affair.

Saturday Slate

Alabama vs. Wisconsin

Firstly, Alabama visits Camp Randall to take on Wisconsin. I favor Alabama -16.5. Wisconsin's Tyler Van Dijk hasn't demonstrated improved deep-ball skills and their defense has been porous against even lesser opponents. I believe Alabama will establish their run and exploit Wisconsin's weaknesses.

Memphis vs. Florida State

Next, we have Memphis taking on Florida State, where I’m backing Memphis +6.5. Florida State has struggled physically in their recent games, and Memphis seems primed to capitalize on that. They have a strong physical team that should have success against Florida State's defense.

Notre Dame vs. Purdue

In another matchup, I’m betting on Notre Dame -10 against Purdue. Even after a disappointing loss to NIU, I believe Marcus Freeman will motivate his team adequately. Purdue’s struggles against the run give Notre Dame an advantage as they seek to establish the ground game.

Georgia vs. Kentucky

In this rivalry game, I like the under 45.5. The matchup history suggests a trend towards low scoring, and I anticipate Georgia will control the game through their running attack and solid defense against a struggling Kentucky offense.

UCF vs. TCU

For the UCF versus TCU matchup, I'm leaning towards UCF on the money line. UCF's offensive additions and their run game could dominate TCU's struggling defense, making this an exciting matchup.

Colorado vs. Colorado State

Lastly, when Colorado takes on Colorado State, I see value in backing Colorado State +7.5. Colorado's defense has looked shaky, and this game factors in local rivalry intensity. Until Colorado shows consistent defensive improvement, I cannot back them with confidence.

Conclusion

That wraps up my analysis for week three of college football. Hopefully, you find these insights helpful for your betting decisions. As always, if you have any gambling inquiries, be sure to check out Gold Boys for official plays. Happy wagering!
