Clever Upcycles * DIY Flips * Exciting New Updates For My Channel and Business

Introduction

Introduction

Hello, my crafty friends! Welcome to Repurpose My Way - I'm Shelly. Today, I have some exciting updates about my channel and my business, and I can't wait to share them with you. I've been busy reorganizing my workspace and planning some fun new projects. Let's dive in!

Expanding Our Workshop

One issue I've been facing is simply not having enough of me to go around. If you're like me, I'm sure you understand. You might notice that my setup looks a bit different. My husband has been helping me reorganize my crafting area. This room used to house my tools and wood-cutting machines, but we've rearranged everything to make better use of the space, especially since it has a wood stove that I don't use much in the winter.

We sourced some cabinets from a local "free shack"—a place where people leave items they no longer need for others to take. It’s been a fantastic resource for finding great stuff. My husband helped me install the cabinets and organize with pegboards and other storage solutions. This new setup means I can hopefully expand my business and even start offering craft kits.

Craft Kits Coming Soon

I've always wanted to offer craft kits, and now it seems like it might be possible. We live off-grid in Maine, powered entirely by solar with generator backup, so our capabilities are somewhat limited. High-energy tools and machines like laser engravers aren't viable for us, but we manage with battery-operated tools and generator support. This adds a unique, handcrafted touch to each piece.

In the coming weeks, I'll be preparing some craft kits. Once I have everything I need and work out the pricing, these will be available on my Etsy shop. Each kit will include handmade, hand-cut pine wood pieces and all the materials you'll need. I'll create a detailed instructional video to guide you through the process. Keep an eye out for these kits in my Etsy store soon!

Regular Live Sessions

Another update is that I plan to start doing weekly live sessions. I’m not making any hard promises, as life can get busy, and I might not always stick to a schedule perfectly. As a retiree, I still have family commitments and other activities that fill up my time. Nonetheless, I’m aiming for one live session per week and hoping to bring you more frequent and varied content.

Expanding My Etsy Shop

I have amassed a substantial stock of items and feel it’s time to organize and make some room. I plan to list smaller, more shippable items on my Etsy shop to make it easier and more affordable for you to get them. Larger, bulkier items will still go to my physical booths unless someone specifically requests otherwise via email.

Membership and Printable Designs

I have opened up a membership on YouTube and received a few members already—thank you for your support! For members, I plan to offer more stencils and printable designs. My Crow stencils have been particularly popular, and it's been wonderful seeing them used in various projects.

Project Showcase

Vintage Telephone Shelf

One of the projects I'm working on is a vintage telephone shelf I purchased from a thrift store for $ 10. I believe it was originally designed for holding a telephone, pad, and pen. After cleaning and painting it with Fusion’s Woodwick paint, I added some handmade drawer fronts to give it a more primitive feel.

Olive Green Crate

Another project involves upcycling a wooden crate. I used Diamond hard repurpose paint in a unique olive green color that I picked up from Tractor Supply. After cleaning and sanding, I painted the crate, decoupaged it with some vintage paper, and finished it off with jute rope handles. The transformation was stunning, turning a simple crate into a charming, decorative storage solution.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed learning about these projects and updates. Let me know in the comments which project was your favorite and what you think of that green olive color. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more repurposing adventures. Have a great day!
