Embroidery Business Vlog | Spend a Day With Me
Introduction
Good morning! Welcome to another day at the embroidery business. Today is Wednesday, and I’m excited to share my daily routine with you. Let’s dive right in!
Morning Madness
First things first, my computer was acting up this morning, and it felt like it was forever dead! But after some coaxing, I was able to get my day started. Yesterday was productive; Keenan managed to do an impressive 80 embroidery items, and almost all the orders went out, except for a couple due to incorrect address details. It’s a frequent issue—some customers accidentally misspell their streets or forget their apartment numbers!
Today, my tasks include making four kids' shirts and some sweatshirts, along with checking the latest orders from the website. Janelle has already folded most of the items that arrived, except for the heather gray insulation shirts, which she and Cecilia will tackle soon. I’m anticipating some special items to come in today, and I plan to keep myself busy.
Creativity in Action
On quieter workdays, I like to exercise my creativity by brainstorming new Etsy items and crafting TikTok posts showcasing my products. I began designing a “senior 2025” shirt with some bling, considering whether to incorporate embroidery into the design as well. I often get anxious about fair orders because the processing time is only one day, and the notifications don't come through immediately. So there’s always that fear of forgetting an order!
After printing the orders, I organized everything, from sweatshirts to patches. I focused on kid shirts while Keenan dealt with the rest. The mix of creativity and routine keeps the days interesting, even if they feel a bit lazy from time to time.
Afternoon Snacks and New Patches
While working, I made myself a homemade latte. I love how refreshing it is—just needs more ice! I took breaks in between, including enjoying beautiful strawberries from my favorite fruit vendor.
I also made some spangle transfers for orders—think custom designs using shiny, sparkling material—before diving into patch orders. We had some new patches arrive, including a cute pink bow and some “baseball mom” designs. It’s always a rush to get them listed online, especially with limited time.
At lunchtime, I opted for a quesadilla instead of Chipotle after a bad experience with takeout due to a stomach virus. Chipotle can be hit or miss, but thankfully the delivery was quick.
Evening Wrap-Up and New Creations
As the day progressed, I wrapped up patch orders and created a cute hoodie for Etsy featuring a lovely sparkle design. I filmed content for social media while working on this, knowing how important videos can be for marketing.
With everything packaged and ready to ship, I felt accomplished and decided to go home a bit earlier than usual. I’m now looking to clean my workspace and get everything prepared for tomorrow.
Thank you for spending this day with me in the embroidery business! I’m off to tackle new projects and dream up more creative designs.
