Budget Asda and Iceland shopping haul with prices

Introduction

Hello everyone, and welcome to my haul channel! My name is Louise, and it’s time for another weekly shopping haul update. If you’re new here, I typically post these hauls on Saturdays. I wasn't certain I would get this video up, but here we are. Alongside the hauls, I will have other videos coming soon, capturing my holiday and a recent trip to London with my son, Corey.

Shopping Overview

My budget for shopping is usually £60 a week, which is meant to cover groceries for myself and my adult son. However, this week, I spent £60.65, which is quite close to my budget, considering I hadn’t shopped for two weeks due to being on holiday. My shopping experience was fine, although Saturday crowds in town can be overwhelming.

I make it a point to donate three items to the food bank with each shopping trip, so my total might differ slightly from what I list here. Let’s dive into the haul now!

Shopping Details

Fresh Produce

  • Tomatoes: A pack for £0.95. I was hoping for cherry tomatoes, but they were very green and not ripe.
  • Mushrooms: 200g for £0.91. I’ve started paying a bit more for better-quality mushrooms now; they’re just nicer to work with.
  • Cucumber: £0.89. I was out of cucumber and needed some for pickling.
  • Lettuce: A pack of Roma lettuce for £0.99. I wanted it for salads but didn't have much during my holiday.
  • Milk: A full pint for £1.45, which should last us a couple of weeks.
  • Spaghetti: Two tins at £0.19 each. Corey had tried spaghetti on toast lately, which was a surprise as he usually avoids it.
  • Sweet Pickle: A jar for £1.00. I wanted some for the cupboard, as it’s been a while since I had it.
  • Plum Tomatoes: A tin for £0.47. I only buy the better-quality versions for a good consistency.
  • Smoked Bacon: A pack of 16 for £3.50. Not the price I like, but it’s been a struggle to find it lately.
  • Eggs: A pack of six, since it was already Saturday, and I wouldn’t get through them quickly.

Other Groceries

  • Noodles: £0.25 for cheap curry-flavored noodles. I like to use stock cubes instead of the provided flavoring.
  • Plain Bagels: A pack for £0.79 to keep in the freezer as an alternative to bread.
  • Juice (Cherries and Berries): A bottle for £0.95. I like to keep a few varieties at home occasionally.
  • Diet Orange Crush: £0.80. I have been in the mood for fizzy drinks post-holiday.
  • Cory's Fizzy Drinks: A bottle of Cherry Pepsi for £2.00 and a lemon-flavored Coke for £2.49.
  • Jammy Dodgers: A pack of store-brand mini ones for £1.00. There was a mix-up with my purchases, which resulted in buying two packets.
  • Muffins: For the freezer.
  • Foil: £1.20. Surprised at the cost but necessary.
  • Freezer Bags: A pack for £0.75. I use these frequently.
  • Crisps: We have enough right now.
  • Royers Crisps: T-bone steak flavored, 6 packets for £1.50.
  • Mini Cheddars: A pack for £1.05 for a savory treat.
  • Energy Drinks for Corey: An 8-pack for £3.30.

Household Items and Snacks

  • Bread: A loaf for £0.75.
  • Toilet Roll: A pack for £2.39.
  • Ice Cream: A pack of four for £1.50.
  • Southern Fried Chicken: Reduced to £1.00.
  • Chips: £2.45 for a 1.5 kg pack.
  • Corn Meat Alternatives: A special deal - four packs for £2.50.

After visiting Asda, we swung over to Iceland and picked up:

  • Curry Sauce and Chips: £1.00 each.
  • Mac and Cheese Pasties and Cheese and Ham Bakes: £1.00 each, among additional new items, including an intriguing hot dog pizza.
