We asked TikTok users to give us their data

Introduction

Last week, we engaged with our followers on TikTok and encouraged them to download their own data and share it with us. Our goal is to gain insights into how individuals really utilize the app. We were thrilled to see 800 users participate and send us their data.

As our team of data reporters, Caitlyn and N, work diligently to process the information, we wanted to provide you with a live update on the progress. Currently, our computers are busy analyzing the valuable data that has come in.

Initial Findings

Though we still have a considerable amount of information to sift through, we've gathered some intriguing initial takeaways from the data collected thus far:

  • The data we have analyzed comes from a diverse group, spanning 43 countries across the globe, as well as 46 states in the U.S., plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.
  • In total, our respondents have collectively watched a staggering 55 million TikToks in just the last six months.
  • A striking 10% of our respondents report watching more than 3 hours of TikTok each day.

As we continue to dive deeper into the data, we look forward to uncovering more insights and trends. Stay tuned, as we plan to start publishing our findings later this year.
