TikTok Creativity Program Beta - 2 Months Later

Hey everyone,

I wanted to drop by with a quick update on the TikTok Creator Program. It's been almost two months since I joined, and I promised to keep you all updated on the progress. So, let's get into the quick and dirty of it right now.

Initially, I was really pumped. I logged onto my Creator Dashboard the second day after getting into the program. Let me first tell you the requirements: you needed to have at least 100,000 followers. When the program started, I had around 115,000 followers. Additionally, you were required to have several videos with over 100,000 views in the past three months.

Before joining the new Creativity Program Beta, I was earning between $ 1 and $ 2 a day through the TikTok Creator Fund, which was quite frustrating. The Creativity Program Beta, however, promised to pay more like YouTube with an RPM (Revenue per Mille) and CPM (Cost per Mille) model.

On my first day in the Creativity Program Beta, my RPM was around $ 1.23, which got me really excited. I don’t remember the exact number of views I got, but I ended up making approximately $ 350 in my first month. This was a massive improvement compared to the $ 30-$ 50 a month I'd been making through the Creator Fund.

However, over the past month, I’ve watched my RPM steadily decline. It has now dropped from $ 1.23 to about $ 0.75. Even though my views have remained relatively consistent, this month I am projected to make around $ 185-$ 200.

I’m still trying to understand why my RPM is falling. It’s a mystery, much like it sometimes is on YouTube. My videos are not offensive; they are mostly about motorcycle news. If you want to check out my TikTok, it's "mxg" and "mxg2."

Interestingly enough, today I received a notification on my second TikTok account "mxg2," which has about 21,000 followers. They recently opened the TikTok Creativity Program to accounts with at least 10,000 followers. So, if you meet that criterion, you might be able to join the program, too.

One thing to note is that TikTok Creativity Program Beta requires videos to be at least one minute long. This has changed my content style a bit. My videos now are usually between one and three minutes long, and I upload them to YouTube as well, which helps me get more views without doing extra work.

I'll keep you updated as time goes on regarding the success of this program for me. It’s definitely better than the old Creator Fund and better than nothing, but it’s still not up to YouTube's level.

See you in the next update!
