Supply Chain Management Made Easy with Odoo
Hello everyone! This is Victoria, and I’m thrilled to welcome you all to today's webinar about making Supply Chain Management easy with Odoo. As a business analyst at ToDo, and part of the experts' team specializing in inventory and supply chain, I’ll present an intriguing use case today.
Background About the Client
Our client, Softi, is a medium-sized company producing soft drinks in various flavors. They have 20 employees but only need 10 Odoo licenses. The focus of our webinar involves the following Odoo apps: Website, E-commerce, Sales, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Invoicing.
Client's Challenges
Softi faced a couple of pain points:
- Their e-commerce store couldn't reflect actual inventory levels accurately, causing customer dissatisfaction.
- Inefficient production planning processes led to missed orders and deadlines.
Odoo's Solution
Odoo seamlessly integrates to solve these issues:
- The e-commerce platform now reflects real-time inventory levels.
- Efficient production planning through the Manufacturing app helps avoid missed deadlines.
Live Demo
Let’s dive into a live demonstration.
Website and E-commerce Setup
Softi's website, set up using Odoo Website, includes an e-shop. Here, a customer can choose different product options, such as selecting a Sparkling Green Tea with a specific quantity.
Sales Order Flow
Once an order is placed through the e-shop, customer details create an entry in the backend for future follow-ups. An automatic order confirmation email is sent to the customer.
When I confirm this order in Odoo, it triggers the creation of a manufacturing order and a delivery order for fulfilling the customer's request.
Product Setup and Reordering Rules
Different products are configured for automatic replenishment. By setting minimum and maximum quantities and specific routes (Manufacture or Buy), Odoo ensures efficient inventory management.
Replenishment Dashboard
The replenishment dashboard shows the suggestion from Odoo on how much quantity to order based on inventory levels and order demands.
Manufacturing Order and Work Orders
While manufacturing orders cover the entire production process, work orders handle specific steps within the manufacturing order. These work orders are part of the workflow, outlining the sequence of operations necessary to complete the product.
Completing Manufacturing and Delivery
After processing the manufacturing order and creating the finished product, the delivery order is updated. This keeps all processes linked comprehensively, ensuring efficient and reliable order fulfillment.
Invoicing and Cost Analysis
Finally, after the product is delivered, an invoice is created. Here, Odoo provides detailed costing, showing component costs and the total product cost, aiding in financial analysis and decision-making.
Summary
Odoo’s integrated applications make supply chain management easy and efficient by providing real-time inventory tracking, efficient manufacturing processes, and streamlined financial transactions.
