SHEIN STOLE MY BRAND’S PALETTE!

Introduction

It’s astonishing how, after all these years, history seems to be repeating itself. Several years ago, when I launched my Charles X Morphe palette, one of my most viewed videos featured me trying out a dupe or knockoff product. Fast forward to now, and it’s happened yet again!

For those who might not know, I recently started my own makeup brand called Painted, and we proudly released our first-ever palette, named the Basic Canvas. But to my dismay, it looks strikingly similar to another product out there.

Here’s what the real Basic Canvas palette looks like: it’s nothing short of a stunning art piece that feels luxurious and well-crafted. Upon opening it, you’ll find 24 beautiful shades—each one meticulously developed over several years with a focus on high-quality packaging. There’s simply no way that any imitation could come close to this.

When performing swatches with my palette alongside the duped version, the difference became painfully clear. My colors, named Movie Night, Champs, Wimple, and Theodore, held true to their quality. Conversely, the knockoff’s shades, branded as Conspicuous, Crystal, Red Mud, and Dark, literally crumbled off my arm. The texture resembled nothing more than sidewalk chalk — an absolute disaster!

This stark contrast highlights a reason why my palette has become one of the best-selling options on the market right now. If you thought this was bad, wait until you hear what they did to the Painted Sponge.

The experience serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by independent brands in the beauty industry, especially as larger corporations feel empowered to replicate and ransack the creativity and hard work put into original products.
