MY FIRST YOUTUBE PAYCHECK | How Much Youtube Paid Me | monetization journey
Introduction
Welcome back to my channel! My name is Monique, and I’m a 19-year-old content creator navigating the world of YouTube. If you're new here, make sure to hit that subscribe button and join our little family! If you're one of my OGs, I appreciate your continued support. Today, I’m excited to share my journey to monetization, including the moment I received my first paycheck from YouTube.
My Monetization Journey
I got monetized roughly six months ago, back in April, but I just received my first paycheck in October. The wait was mainly due to two factors: I didn’t reach the payment threshold, and my posting schedule was less consistent than I would have liked. There were months where I struggled to upload even one video, which significantly impacted my earnings.
To be eligible for a payout, creators must meet a payment threshold of $ 100. The good news is that you can adjust this threshold to any amount (like $ 200 or $ 300) that you feel comfortable with. Payments are processed between the 21st and 26th of every month based on your earnings from the previous month.
Understanding the Payment Process
To receive your payment, you must set up your primary payment account in Google AdSense. From there, funds typically get routed to your bank account. If you're someone who prefers physical checks, you can opt for that option as well, though I personally find electronic payment much more convenient.
You will also need to complete several verifications before getting paid, such as verifying your identity and address. Google will send a PIN to verify your address, which is essential for getting paid. It’s important to have valid identification, like your TRN, driver’s license, or passport for identity verification.
Once your identity and address are verified, you can monitor your earnings and payment activities through YouTube Studio. Your earnings accumulate monthly, but adjustments such as taxes and invalid traffic claims may affect your final payout.
For those of you just starting out as small YouTubers, it may take time to reach that initial $ 100 threshold. But don’t get discouraged! There are essential steps you can focus on: building your community, being consistent with uploads, finding your niche, developing your personal style or aesthetic, and creating quality content.
My First Paycheck
I’m thrilled to announce that my first paycheck from YouTube was $ 178.96. It’s the culmination of hard work, late nights, and endless creativity.
When looking at the payment details, it’s crucial to understand the difference between "earnings" and "payments." Earnings reflect your estimated income throughout the month, while payments are the net amount you actually receive after adjustments.
This YouTube journey is not without its challenges, but I'm here to share what I've learned so far, hoping it will help you too.
Final Thoughts
If you’re a small YouTuber, stay motivated and keep pushing out your content! Remember that authenticity is key; people resonate with genuine personalities. Don’t hesitate to rebrand if needed, but make sure you remain true to yourself. My goal is to reach 10K subscribers by the end of the year—please share my videos with friends and family to help me get there.
Thank you for joining me in today's video, and I can't wait to share more insights with you in the future. Don't forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe for more content!
