Jaw-Dropping Insights | China's Explosive E-Commerce Growth & Logistics Revolution
When raising money, people have often asked: "How can you be successful with no internet, no logistics, no credit cards, no money, no talents in China?" These questions have challenged us year after year. The reality is, everyone is dealing with a lack of money. For entrepreneurs, this scarcity presents a unique opportunity to think creatively.
We collaborated with local entrepreneurs who were eager to deliver goods from their own villages, home cities, and provinces. Today, we facilitate the delivery of 65 million packages per day in China. At its peak, this system provided jobs to three million people.
Fifteen years ago, China's logistics system was in dire straits. It was so slow that the China Post was often compared to Russia's current postal service. Yet, despite these hurdles, we saw potential for growth. China is a populous country, and we viewed this as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
In developing countries like China, the logistics cost as a percentage of GDP is around 12%, compared to 6-7% in more developed nations. Thanks to the internet, we've been able to reduce this figure to between 6% and 7%, a significant improvement.
