Investment Review day 30 of 50: Shopify $SHOP

Introduction

Shopify describes itself as the operating system for commerce, powering over a million online stores and big brands in more than 175 countries. Their technology provides access to online storefronts, payments, marketing, and shipping services.

My personal investment journey with Shopify has been notably rewarding. I got in very early, managed to buy low, and sold high. While investing often comes with its ups and downs, my returns on Shopify were staggering enough to afford me the opportunity to retire in my 40s and focus entirely on managing my portfolio.

Shopify did take a hit during the growth stock correction. Additionally, there have been some dubious leadership decisions in recent years that I haven't appreciated. Although I remain fond of Shopify, my enthusiasm has somewhat cooled, and it currently makes up 3% of my portfolio allocation.

I'm currently on a 50-day journey to review my entire investment portfolio. For more daily investment insights drawn from two decades in the market, click follow.
